You probably have, it wasn't about talent it was about impact and making a statement. The pattern repeated it self in the early 90s with the Grunge scene and bands like Nirvana.

It's like anything though these kind of awards. How can you possibly compare someone like Meat Loaf to the Sex Pistols, thus who should be inducted if they were both up for the same spot? RNR Hall of Fame is a load of meaningless bollox at the end of the day really. Fun for a laugh and a bit of recognition but it certainly does not influence my taste in music.

Well you compare the two based on their impact to Rock Music, Sex Pistols helped start a whole new sub genre of rock, yeah it wasn't the most talented sub genre but they did do it. Meat had one of the best selling albums of all time. Both are worthy of being in there but and heres the point I definitely agree on, the RNR Hall of Fame is meaningless bollocks. Thats why Meat isn't in, thats why Alice Cooper (Who oddly enough is an influence on the lead singer of the Pistols I believe), Rush and Kiss aren't in.
Not your cup of tea yes, it's not mine either I like music where the musicians show off their talents but I wouldn't be so dismissive of it based on how it's created. It's not shite just... different to what you or I would normally like.
