I can think of several artists that sound better as they matured-- Leonard Cohen & Tom Jones voice is different now. I think they are better. " To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven". Every season has beauty.
So many of your songs lend themselves to your voice as it is now. When you sing "Objects" it still brings me to tears.
"...If you don't worry 'bout the future,
Sooner or later it's the past
And if they say the thrill is gone,
Then it's time to take it back..."
Your fans won't leave you and screw the rest.
