Oh that's ok. There's no reason to be sorry.

I'm concerned too.

At my wedding (4 years ago), my Grandma looked like Meat - just not well - Like she was overwhelmed with life and tired as ~~~~.

Turned out she has an 11cm tumor in her abdomen that she had removed a year and a half later. (not cancer just a big growth)

This year she turned 71 and she looks better than she did 4 years ago, she's happy and healthy and feeling good. She really has recovered a lot from all her ailments and seems younger like how I remember. They take a lot out of you and she has had multiple surgeries, and has had MANY throughout her life.

Oh and I should note that when she didn't look well, she had also recently had surgery on her foot to correct what arthritis had done to it, and a couple years before that, radiation for a tumor (not cancer thank god)

So I think you have every right to be worried Andrew. I think I agree with you - I don't think Meat is in optimal health at this time, even considering his age. And I am glad he is choosing not to tour, and to limit his engagements.

I hope he allows himself to heal and takes the time he needs.

Just hearing his breathing on the radio concerned me.

Reminds me of Lemmy and you can tell when someone is in a bad way and when it is more than just "getting older", although he's not nearly as bad as Lemmy was when I became a fan in early 2015.

Only reason I mentioned my comments about people just "not wanting Meat to get older" is that I think it's partially true - that Meat is just almost a 70 year old, heavy set man who still works very hard and doesn't rest enough.

But yes, Sorry Andrew, you're definitely right, there is more to it than just old age at play here. You just get that gut feeling that they're not in a good way right now, compared to how you remember them.

However, that doesn't mean the end is near, or that he's dying, or anything silly and extreme!

It just means that health and well being are what he needs to make his job for now, and for the near future. He needs to make learning about health and how get healthier his goal. he said he loves learning, and to never stop. If he switched his thinking to that, I'm sure his health would improve a lot. He can make it his "job" to "be the healthiest version of himself he can be", if it is a job and a busy one that takes discipline then it will be right up his alley. It will be accomplishing a personal goal. And then he'd have more energy and faculties to put into future projects instead of running on near empty, as we saw on that video....Just my two cents

He has had multiple surgeries over the last few years - knee operations, multiple back surgeries, tumor removed, etc - and those are just what we have heard of. Surgeries, especially in older people who take longer to heal, can really set them back. I think that really is mostly what we're seeing here. He just needs to stop for awhile and rest, and take care of himself. It should be about him for awhile. Like I said, if he could just make it a job he'd be interested in it. Make your own health your ~~~~ing job! I think if Steinman was worried like that, we should all be. And no, it's not life or death or Meat wouldn't be on the radio or on TV, but it's enough to be concerned for a friend and hope they get what they need to be healthy and happy!!!
