If you like that, I suggest you check out Opeth. Swedish metal band, who do such things in the span of one song. For instance, they kick off with a brutal metal part, and then drop into an acoustic interlude, to switch to some heavy growling metal afterwards... the singer is very capable of doing both the so called grunts (really low, growling kind of singing, sometimes reffered to as 'Cookie monster vocals') and clean vocals. Beautiful voice this guy has...
My recommandation would be either "Still Life" or "Blackwater Park".
