Default Just a thought

I was thinking of doing something with my cross stitch and I need opinions. If I were to sell them with or without Meat Loaf's signature on them and all the money went to lets say the Breast Cancer Foundation, would anyone bid on them???? This is something that I have thinking about for a while now. Lets say this picture, would anyone bid on it?

It's a very accomplished piece of work Chris. I wonder if it might do better in an art or craft gallery than Ebay...but there's no harm in trying it on there. Just make sure you put a good reserve on it so that it doesn't go for a song. Also, get the best quality pics of it you can so that it's clear to people how very good it is.

I can tell that I would deffinatly bid as I would love a cross stitch. Infact I was thinking about having a go myself but decided not as a) I'm no artist and b)I wouldn't know whewre to start...

Its an excellent idea and great cause too. I did charity work for the mcmillan cancer research a while back - absailin down a lighthouse - boy was that scary lol

Its great to support a good cause...

Count Me In!!!!

Thanks but wasn't thinking of ebay...this would be for Meat Loaf fans on here or the .net sites only...this one is actually in Meat's hands now...I was just wondering if anyone from either site would be interested in something like this...instead of me keep giving them to Meat...lets do something nice...I have been trying to talk to him about this idea of mine...but well you know how busy people can be...

I'm a dweeb Chris..it did occur to me what you meant about 10 mins later!!
I'm sure you'd get lots of bids from fans..and if Meat signed it that would make it pretty irresistible. And it is a magnificent cause. I just don't understand how you can render a photo into cross stitch like that. It's phenomenal. I've done a fair bit of needlepoint on canvas..but usually from a chart and using carpet wool. Not in your league at all!

I think that's a really thoughtful idea especially if the money is going to a charity, you'd be going to a lot of work and a charity and the winning bidder would both benefit hugely - very best of luck if you do decide to go ahead with this.

Just a thought, but could be done in conjunction with another money raising event too perhaps - such as when the two meat sites were raising money for stuart (this it's cujo?)'s bid for the charity football thing in newcastle, or for breast cancer foundation (incredibly good/worthwhile cause, by the way), isn't there a 'think pink' day each year? not that i am saying we should only support certain charities at certain times of year, but i think when there is a lot of publicity for something (eg think pink, or children in need, comic relief, etc) it tends to get people in a more generous mood for donating to the charity...although having said that, with the superbly high standard of your work, I think there would be more than the charity on people's minds if they were bidding!

Thanks Helen...it's actually going to be the choice of Meat Loaf's charity...any charity is find by me...I still have to talk this over with him to see if he's willing to participate...after the new year...I will be talking to him and others about this...I just wanted to know if anyone would actually bid on my stuff...
