Default The Wonder Years.

...just wondering if anyone can fill in the blank between Welcome to the Neighbourhood and CHSIB? 95-03. That's a big gap when you think about it.

Peace.

There was an equally big gap between BBIS and Bat II. Between WTTN and CHSIB there were several tours, movies and Storytellers as well as TVBO. I remember that I saw him a lot on TV around 1998/99. So he was was very busy, even without a new studio album.

Thanks guys. I was in the middle of a piece of work and someone forwarded me a link to Meat's wikipediea entry. I guess I just never realised the gap before (despite buying the biog, the best of, watching the TV appearances etc as it happened!).

Meat played in several films during that period.
Just to mention a few : "Mister Bean" and "Spice World" (1997) - "Black Dog" (1998 ) - "Crazy In Alabama" and "Fight Club" (1999) - "Focus" and "51th State" (2001)

Tours :
"Night Of the Proms" - 2001 - Two-month tour in Belgium, Holland and Germany with classical "Il Novecento Orchestra"
"Just Having Fun Tour" - 2002

I must have missed him in Bean. But I remember that "Meat Loaf's butt" quote.

Hey
Yeah, I guess that's why I never noticed the studio album gap while it was happening - Meat was busy doing so much stuff!

I've always seen Meat credited in "Bean", am I wrong?
Note that I've never seen the movie

No, he didn't have a role in Bean. Only his butt is mentioned in the movie.

Don't forget about numerous concerts such as the having fun tour, Hyde Park, Proms in The Netherlands etc in the early 2000s too as Florence pointed out, so it was more the late 90s I guess he was less prolific music wise.

The 1999 European tour was billed as the Very best of tour and Meat mentioned in several interviews that it was to be his last as he wanted to concentrate more on acting.
I'm glad he stuck with the music mostly!!

It's interesting to note that also Bruce Springsteen was much less prolific music wise during the late 90s but has been making albums and been on tour almost non stop since. Maybe it's an age thing.

The Meat Loaf butt reference in Mr. Bean I always thought was a stupid bit of writing, as was most of that movie. And they did a sequel!!! Yikes.
