Default 101. Los Angeloser

This is the START OUT OF HELL & ARRIVE TO HEAVEN topic.
Let's Go to Rock 'n' Roll!!!!!!!

Los Angeloser (3)

I won't be kind at all. One of the worst Meat Loaf song to me. It shocked me when I heard first time and the video has dug deeper in the shame. I always advertised Meat to my friends but when they saw the video they called me and laughed. Laughed on me, because my idol ruined himself in this video. If somebody can sing like God and make videos like Anyting For Love why does he do this? Okay, the video is disgusting to me, like an 80es Elton John crap.

The melody is just simple and boring, 2 or 3 strings, no more. Meat's vocal is no good, I hate again the speech lines. Still better than any Rihanna shit, if it means anything...

Nevermind! I won't be crueler later! But this song is a loser, even los angeloser.

My score: 3

It is totally different to the stuff Meat Loaf has done before but that's one of the reason's I like it. It's a bit like the album title - it makes people stop and go "what's that?".

This is on the jukebox at my local pub and every time I put it on I see heads nodding along and people tapping their feet. Guaranteed every time I've put it on people have asked me who it is. Had TFI Friday still been around today and Meat had went on that instead of The One Show, he'd have sold a bucket load with this. Everyone tells me how catchy they think this song is - even the ones who said they didn't like it the first time they heard it.

Anyway, I totally disagree that Meat's vocal is no good. Quite the opposite in fact. Having listened to James Michael's own version of it, Meat's vocal is what brings this song alive. For me this is by no means a weak track on the album and I play it a lot.

7/10

It's an ok fun country-like summery song. Nothing too special, emotional or memorable though.

Don't think Elton John ever had girls in his videos who were THAT hot though!

Well I love it, have done from the first time I heard it, and love the video too. It's humorous and catchy and tongue in cheek. I played it for my best friend and she loves it too.

I like it, it's catchy and a bit of a summer song. But there's comething about it that nags at me and annoys me, and i think it's that the chorus is so simple anyone could have made it up. Surely they could have come up with a better chorus? There's just hardly any words to it at all. Just keep repeating Losangeloser all the time. I do like the spoken bits though, especially when Meat addresses someone in the audience with it. Overall weakest song on the album for me, which made it even more of a shame that it was chosen as the lead single.

took me awhile to get used to it but now i do like it a lot.

it's catchy, backing vocals are a bit strange and some of the spoken parts for me don't work...but it's still good overall

"Oh man is this catchy. Words can't describe how good the video is. This is just awesome." (I have been using m reviews from my website if you haven't noticed )

Anyway, this song is my second favorite on the album after California. In my top 20 favs.

10/10. Yeah perfect score. i can be very very critical.

Great song, great vocals, and superb delivered live on stage. Catchy, light-hearted and fun (remember that?) and certainly successful as it stayed in the BBC A playlist for 3 weeks.

Nothing critical to offer, nothing I'd change, and I LOVE the spoken parts. So it's a 10 for me :)

A different song than you would expect from Meat Loaf, but different does not mean bad! Los Angeloser is catchy. It didn't hook me from the get-go like Madness, but it's definitely a good song. 7/10

And again he's entitled to his opinion. Let's not criticise people for having a different opinion okay. Let's be decent people hmm.

Didn't you call it a "crap song" just a few weeks ago?

Simple but catchy tune with an interesting arrangement, too bad that Meat hasn't managed to transfer the lightheartedness the song conveys to a rousing live performance.

I was referring to the quality of the performance. All live versions of the song I have heard so far sounded kind of tense and I can't imagine that the ones I didn't hear sounded as good as on the CD.

The ones you have heard may have been like that, but at the live shows i have heard in the US, i would say Meat was far from tense and the song sounded superb ! I would say Meat and the band did a great job with this song live on tour. Very funny, relaxed and tongue in cheek, one of my fave songs from the set list.
I don't want my songs ( or expect ) to sound like they do on the cd, i can stick that on anytime.
I think the live versions at the shows the song sounds different to the cd, better imo.
