Never heard it quite this way. Todd always seems a little bit of an arse when discussing "Bat", yet without him we would have never heard it. I know he produced some backing vocals on a couple of Meat's later albums. But I always figured they were not best of friends necessarily since he never worked to produce another Meat album during the Bad Attitude / BBIS era when Meat's voice was crying out for a producer. Given Todd's last project I am not sure he is thinking clearly these days.

That's not the story I heard. Meat and Jim were unhappy with their label (RCA, yes they actually found a label at one point) because they didn't want Todd to produce. I remember reading that somewhere, definitely one of the articles on the Steinman site.
