My son and I met Meat last December (gosh, is it a year already?!) before the show at the Beau Rivage in Mississippi. Let me tell you, he was the sweetest, nicest person I have ever met in my life No, really!! I still haven't washed my right cheek!

Niko and I spent about 20 minutes chatting with Meat and having quite a number of laughs. My son had a bag of "prizes" from the arcade with him and Meat couldn't resist playing with the chinese handcuffs! I don't think I've laughed so hard in my life! Meat kept trying to get Niko to "save" him!! And, of course, reminded him that language used during the show should not be used in front of mom - like he had never heard language like that before. Obviously, Meat has not driven with me during rush hour!!

Took tons of pictures with my camera (these came out kind of blurry) and had a few taken by the venue photographer (these are up on my wall in the office and at home). Funny, everybody who stops by my cubicle asks if that's a picture of me and the hubby - hmmmmm, wishful thinking!

Was all set to visit with Meat again at the Grand this year (I'm rapidly running out of favors to call in) with my best friend, but alas, the show was canceled by the promoter at the last minute!

Oh well, there's always next time.

Much affection to all - Debbi V

Meat - sorry, but this would be too good to be true - you with handcuffs. it would never happen, but if they did i would be "jumpin the gun"

I met Meat at a Meet n' greet once when I was 16. In 1999, when I was 20- he had me show him a section from Swan Lake on stage during the storytellers tour, and we talked about acting techniques (method acting etc.)...he's not a bad dancer

Debbi V is right, he's SOOOO sweet! VERY polite!

I've met him a few times over the years, never at a meet and greet always after a show when he's been leaving .

The most memorable is after one of the Harrogate shows on the Bad Attitude tour. I asked Meat to sign a huge four foot high cardboard gravestone that was being used to promote Hits Out Of Hell.

I'd seen Bob Ellis (his manager at the time) ripping the display stand down in the foyer so I'd salvaged this gravestone which had the tracklisting on it.

Meat spent a while winding me up saying he wouldn't sign it, and then eventually he did. While he was signing it he asked me if I had bought Hits Out Of Hell, to which I replied yes.

With that he reached into his pocket and produced a five pound note which he gave to me, saying something like "you shouldn't have wasted your money on that".

Onbly years later when I understood the story behind the record company wranglings going on at that time (HooH beiung released by Epic who were involved in the ongoing legal battles) did I relaise why he said what he said and why Boob Ellis had ripped the display down.

Sadly I no longer have the gravestone, but I've got treasured pics of it somewhere. In my teenage naivety at the time the fiver got spent in the chip shop on the way home
