Default Remake Of Rocky Horror Picture Show

Don't know if anyone else has heard, and couldn't find it on search, but I read in the Metro newspaper this morning that Kim Cattrall of Sex and the City is to play Janet in a remake of RHPS. They say that she played the role on stage in 1976 and she has a great singing voice. I wonder if Meat will be lined up as maybe Doctor Scott, he played this role on stage but not in the film, this would be great if he did.

They can't do this!!!!! The original film is such a classic - it would be spoiled so much if they did a remake!!!!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but...

The current word within the industry is that (and i quote)

Quote:
Touch My Bum has been incorporated into
the Rocky Horror Music Show - as a
tribute to Transylvania.
Even worse than Kim Cattrall, The cheeky girls!!!!!

Default why re-write, it's only going to make it worse

I dont understand why people want to re-make classics? if it's alrady a cult your not going to make it any better, r only going to make it worse. Nobody tries to rewrite classic books or songs? Could you imagine if Peter Waterman had decided to re-write 'Anything For Love'? Or if R. L Stine decided to re-write 'Moby Dick'?

I think they re-do classics because they are a tried and tested formula. If a wide variety of people like the original then there is a good chance of success if you re-do these songs, films etc. This does seem to work a lot of the time too. Lets hope that if the do remake it it will be done properly keeping the original feel of it. But I'd miss Meat being in it.

I keep having daymares when I see someone doing a cover version of Anything For Love, and my reaction when I hear it
I'd go into all the music stores and smash the cds that it's on, then go to the Telewest arena when whoever does it goes there, and take a gun with me
Oh, and I'd get Meat and Jim to sue them and the manager, but there won't be much of a case cos whoever covered it won't be around to give their side of the story
And of course all the copies of the cover would have to be burned in a huge bonfire...in the office of the manager cos it'll be deserted cos he won't have any money left from the case. Yeah, that sounds about right

Default Rocky Re-make

That can't be. I've been hooked on Rocky since I was a wee girl. (My mums a big fan) and it was rocky that got me into Meatloaf. They cannot possible remake it and top the original. Tim Curry is the difinitive Frank n Furter and the cast can't be replaced! ARG!

Saying that, watching it in theatre with a non original cast is superb but for a film, it's different. I am heartily against it.

Wait a minute !! I had heard they were meant to be making a PREQUEL to "Rocky Horror" and NOT a re-make. In this new prequel, Janet was meant to have a son (which was Frankenfurter's, instead of Brad's). If they remake "Rocky Horror"..... I'll..... I'll..... just probably stop believing in God and miracles... that's all....

If the son was Frank n' Further's, wouldn't that automatically make it a sequel? It wouldn't make sense in a prequel.

I was thinking the same thing if it is their son then it must be a sequel and not a prequel.

Unless they've done the time warp .

Bad news about the cheeky girls
They should leave a classic well alone

Is this a wind up that's gone completely over my head?!

As has been said - it's a cult classic!! ( Being shown at 12:50 on Boxing Day night - suppose that makes it the day after Boxing Day doesn't it?! ) - you can't do a remake of something like Rocky Horror!! Nooo!!

Maybe if we start a protest they'll decide it's just not worth all the hassle?!
