I thought Titanic was a great movie Very sad at the end ... "don't go, don't go ...." (as Jack slips into the sea from Rose's hand) ....... Is a tale of forbidden love and courage in the face of disaster ....

Try not to shed a tear people .......

Titanic didn't win any Oscars this year so this was a little off topic

See below for the aformentioned spoiler.....

The ship sank

And likewise, as I discussed in the pub today, when you got to see the Lord Of The Rings movies: you know that there is a ring, and that it must be destroyed. You take a guess what's going to happen 9 hours later :)

The funniest story I heard about that movie was that some guy let the film makers borrow some period props (a vanity set and cigarette holder amongst other things).
The props were sent to America for the making of the movie.
When the guy tried to have the items brought back to the UK through customs they were confiscated by customs officials because they were made with banned substances (ivory and tortoise shell).
I believe the items are now in a museum and the guy is not a very happy bunny
That's what you get when you try and help people out

Also, the officer who shot a passanger near the end of the movie didn't actually shoot a passanger. His decendents were not too happy about the way he was portrayed and I have to agree with them .

Most of the information was historically accurate. However, they shoved in a pointless love story, which made me want to wretch.

It's one of my many cinematic dreams to make a version of Titanic where it makes it to New York, to have the audience waiting and waiting for the ship to sink would be great

Me too Heli.

Mind you what would be the point of a film on the titanic where it didn't sink. The courage of the people who choose to stay on the ship is what always astounds me. People who couldn't imagine life without there partners.

I'm obviously just an old romantic at heart.

I watched all of it, different parts at different random times

with the except of a few scenes, i found the movie rather boring. i don't like LEO much anyway. he was good in another movie, but i don't remember its name, oh ya, "Catch Me If You Can"

all in all, I didn't like it. i don't care how many awards it received personally.
