Default Quick #1 question!!

Hey folks! Quick question!!

I always believed that Meat has only had one #1 single ( "I'd Do Anything For Love")

But, I recently found an album in my collection called "The Greatest #1 Rock Singles" and it has "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad" on it!! I've also been talking to friends, and they reckoned that Meat Loaf has had more than one #1.

Can somebody please clear up this little misunderstanding for me?!

Thankyou!

Yours, Greavzyboy

As far as i know, 'Anything For Love' was Meats first and only NO.1 to date, i know hes had a few close ones like ' Id Lie For You' (i think it made it to NO.2). Dont think 2 out of 3 made it. I could be wrong tho.

Well, it can't be much worse than Bonnie Tyler's horrendous version of "2 0ut 0f 3"!!

That was a crime against Steinman! In fact, that was a crime against humanity!!

Two Out Of Three enters the UK charts 19 Aug 1978.It stayed in the charts for 8 weeks and the highest position it acheived was No 32.
It was re-released 27th Jun 1992 and was in the charts for 1 week only at No 69.
Bad chart positions, but remember that a lot of people didn't bother with the single because they had bought the album (we all know how well that sold, and is still selling ),and there was no bonus material on the single.

Meat's other top ten songs are...

Dead Ringer For Love 1981(5)
Bat Out Of Hell re-issue 1993 ( 8 )
I'd Lie For You 1995 (2)
Not A Dry Eye In The House 1996 (7)

Hope that helps.

Just who are these people who take Meats songs and massacre them - surely someone has to give permission for this - copyright and all that

In this case (Bonnie's 2 out of 3): Jim Steinman with Bonnie Tyler.

Hi Dottie.
The information I gave was gatherd from the Guinness world records book of British hit singles. It lists every charted single since the UK singles chart began in 1952.It is a very detailed book, giving the highest chart position and how many weeks spent on chart of any given single.
A new addition is published every 2 years.
It is a very good book and I highly recomend it.

Clearly the source is right, but I also have a 'All time Number 1's' Album and it has 2 outta 3 on it too!! Strange. I do believe there are 3 Steinman songs on the album - that one, a Bonnie Tyler one and the third has skipped my mind.

The ironic thing about 2 outta 3 is that it only just made it onto the album, and was basically an afterthought - and it ended up being the only single release from the album that really did well in the charts here!
