When was this re-issued on CD? And where was it/is it actually available. I've finally gotten to hear this, and I really enjoy hearing the other side of Meat Loaf !

I don't know if this is any good to you, but a website on Stoney and Meat Loaf has track listings of a lot of, if not all the records released at:
http://homepages.tesco.net/~stoneymeat/table.htm I'm not sure when the album was re-released as I don't know much about Stoney and Meat Loaf, but it might be of some use :) If I see anything else i'll tag it on. Edit: Actually i've just realised this page doesn't contain info about cd's only records from the looks of it. My bad Edit 2: Yet again I need to look before i post! This is a quote from the site FAQ: "Question: Where can I buy the CD/recordings/records of Stoney and Meat Loaf? Answer: Only one of the Stoney and Meat Loaf recordings has ever been released on CD. This is the song "(I'd Love To Be) As Heavy As Jesus". This is available on the Motown Gospel compilation CD "Key To The Kingdom" which is not particularly hard to find. It is currently listed as available at Tower Records. None of the other Stoney and Meat Loaf tracks have been released on CD. To listen to these other tracks you will need the facility to play vinyl and purchase some of the albums/singles which are listed in detail on the Track Listings Page. None of these vinyl records are currently available new but to be honest they are not particularly difficult to find at on line second hand record stores and auction sites. " Hope this help, i'm not sure how up to date it is. |

I did online, and didn't have much luck. Or do you mean the messageboard? I've read so many posts in the last week, trying to absorb all the information, it's hard to keep track ! Doing a search now !!

What R. meant,is have you used the MLUKFC forum search facility? You can find it in the tool bar in the top right corner of this page. Type in Meat Loaf & Stoney (or even better, just Stoney) and all articals featuring that subject that have been posted on these forums will apear. Good hunting. |

I think that everyone is talking about the Terra Firma Records release of
Meat Loaf featuring Stoney. I have this CD and to be honest I am not overly happy with it - the sound isn't great, it is the 1978 reissue version so the songs arent the best from the S&M sessions. I just stick to the one Puritan has sent me, clear sound and all of the S&M cuts. |

As Meatles quite rightly says there has been a CD on Ebay a few times, though not recently, "released" by Terra Firma Entertainment of Canada.
This has always been at a very high price. I bought a copy out of curiosity but as you can't buy it in any legitimate outlets I think it is a bootleg and would not in anyway recommend it for the reasons given by Meatles |

Just look at those markt sites... orhow do you call them?? Were they offer and ask stuff. There you can find beautifull stuff, special Meat Loaf stuff. Bought all my vinyl records on those sites. and maybe you are lucky and find something!

Just on the Stoney/meat Loaf discussion, Ebay.co.uk has the original LP - bids start at £9.50. I woulda bid myself but i dont have anything that plays LP's. maybe one for the collectors! Seller says:

At least the UK and European record companies had the sense to stick with the orginal Rare Earth LP cover when it was re-released over here |

I can agree with you all
The cover for the US re-issue is pityful. What in hell were they thinking?? the cover is soooo non-meat style. it looks like a crappy 1950's gospel album - Some people I talked to at record shops were convinced it wasn't even the same Meat Loaf who did Bat because the the cover and the poor choices of tracks for the album. The real kicker is that Prodigal never put any of the single releases on the Re-issue!!!!???? WYSIWYG should have been put on the LP primarily because it was the only well-known chart debuting track of the album that BOOH fans could have looked back on and said "hey, I didnt know ML sang that?". |
