As much as I have respect for the absolutely brilliant composer Jim Steinman I personally am not getting my hopes up at all for this.

That article was basically written from Jim's blog, where he explained his plans for the show. The whole thing may or may not happen. The place and the content and everything else about the show may differ from what was said. My personal feeling is that it has about a 50:50 chance of happening.

Personally I would be excited by it and definately making a trip to see it if it happened but, like the others I am not holding my breath!!

Wasn't there a rumour at the beginning of the year that Jim would be producing an album with that welsh bloke from XFactor (Rhydian I think?)...that never seemed to happen so far (or if it did, I haven't heard about it!)

Some of these rumours go from "I'd like to work with Jim" to "Jim is writing my first album" in less time than it takes to play one of Jim's songs ...

while i would love to see it happen, cause I really liked whistle down the wind, I'd say 2010 is being generous as a release

The lates rumour on that one was that the release seemed to be rushed to much so Jim jumped off board, though the mentioned release date of April 08 vanished loooong ago.
I'll definitely go and see the BOOH musical and would try to get tickets for the premiere and everything, but this is just another case of wait and see...

All I know is that:

a) it could now be 2010, not 2009
b) domains named: batoutofhellmusical.com and batoutofhellthemusical.com are purchased by SONY BMI, which means
c) apparently a website is being launched is due course......

Or they've been bought now while they're cheap to avoid someone jumping on the bandwagon and trying to profit from selling the domains at an inflated price should the show ever happen

Oh great, "coming soon" from the people who brought you the great Meat Loaf ticket pre-sale

Actually, the speed Jimmy works at, this could be the perfect partnership

I love Jimmy for giving the world Bat, but sorry, i'm not too keen on this Cirque du Soleil thing

Yes, I know, if you don't go over the top you'll never know what's on the other side, but I just hope that what is on the other side is bigger, brighter, and more splendid than a clown on a bike doing stunt jumps and lighting his own farts

Saying that the show will be like Cirque du Soleil is like openly saying we liked the idea so we stole it.
Whatever happened to the ethos of doing stuff nobody else was doing?
I thought the music alone was unique enough without turning it into a side show.

What I think would be better (and more commercial) is a good story that is told by the songs.

BTW Jim, i've still got all those notes and script segments from the musical I wrote a while back using the work between you and Meat, call me and it might be worth your while

Keep banging ..

The first domain you mentioned is owned by Sony BMGl the second is owned by "Let 's Escape Inc.", a company owned (in part at least) by Steven Rinkoff. I can't remember if Jim also partly owns the latter or not.

Thanks for putting me straight - a slight mistake, but that Steven Rinkoff rings a bell

Actually I was hoping that role would be reserved for David Sonnenberg, but now you mention it, ...

So going by their excellent record they will be putting tickets out for presale 2 weeks after the musical has finished, The website will come a little after that because they dont like rushing things.

Well, it wouldn't be for posting off-topic, as the be-wigged one has actually been hassling Jim for a part in the musical!
