Help identifying film!!!
Can anyone help identify the film we were talking about at work this afternoon.
 It is an old science-fiction film which we think may have been black and white The basic premise is that a foreign body (meteor/comet/whatever??) is on a collison course for earth. The only hope of survival is in the construction of a giant space ship to carry X number of people to colonise a new world. One of the final scenes in the film is where one of the scientists who is in a wheelchair gives up his place for someone younger who wuld be of more use on a new world. If anyone has a clue as to what film this is, we would be indebted to them eternally (or at least until suppertime!!)
