Default What's your favourite Meat Loaf album picture cover?

My favourite picture cover? Well I personally like them all, but if I have to choose my favourite would be:

The very best of Meat Loaf cover. With the motorbike in the clouds and the bat over the ruins.

Couldn't Have Said It Better
I really like the nostalgic look of Betty (the girl), especially on the orange background.

I don't know if this sounds crazy but when I used to have insomnia I got myself back to sleep by staring at the Bat covers. I'd just stare and stare and stare and never get bored.

My favourites are: Bat Out Of Hell, I can't imagine it without it, Dead Ringer (although it doesn't represent what the album's about), Bat 2 and Bad Attitude. Bat 2 and B.A. are my all-time favourite record covers.

I can't remember who designed B.A., but I did a google on Richard Corben who has a website full of his work (and you can write to him), Berni Wrightson who did the cover of Dead Ringer. There's a great site with literally hundreds of pictures of his work. Michael Whelan did Back Into Hell and The Very Best (I always thought Very Best's cover was intended for the BAT 3 that never happened...) Rafeal DeSoto did the cover for Welcome to the Neighborhood which I think is awesome (great Pulp Fiction theme). The inlay pics are all taken from 40s magazines and movie posters (i.e. Where Angels Sing is the notorious movie LOLITA)

Gil Ervgren (sic?) designed the picture, on CHSIB, in the 30s. It was originally, and how's this for irony, called FUNHOUSE. Google his name (it should come up with the correct spelling btw.) next to FUNHOUSE and see what you'll find. A group called BONEPONY also used this picture for an album they wrote called FUNHOUSE (so now you know why Meat intended on calling CHSIB this name...)

The worst, to me, is Midnight at the Lost and Found. At least the pic on Razor's Edge (the single) was more interesting. Blind Before I Stop is confusing because there are two versions of the album cover: one of Meat looking like Michael Bolton and another one where it looks like he's in a wanted pic. Again, it does't make any sense

LOL and don't forget the first re-issue of Meat Loaf & Stoney. Fireball's everlasting advice to me: "burn it"

My favorite album-cover is the very best of ML. It has just something post-apocalyptic and, for me, it looks like BOOH sounds. I also like the cover of the live with MSO CD/DVD. It is just a funny idea to set the orchestra on the background of VBOML.
I worst cover for me is CHSIB. I think it just is the wrong style for an Meat album. I think a Meat cover needs just something pathethic (oh my god, is it written so???)
When i look at the picture, i have to hear the music inside my head, then its a real good cover.
C U soon
R.

PS: I look forward to the cover of Bat III

MSO is the worst cover actually. It's a lame rip-off of Very Best Of Meat Loaf

I dont think so,
Live with MSO is a very good combination, the cover says the person who looks at it, whats inside the CD/DVD.
It says that there is that great, fantastic sound of Meatīs best songs, his "best of", with the awesome instrumental sound of the MSO. Both together. So the Cover says in one picture whatīs the concert about.

Lets twist again, like we did last summer (thatīs enough of that)!

My favourite album cover would be Dead Ringer followed closely by Bat 2.
However my overall favourite picture relating to one of the songs is 'Object's in the rear view mirror', the one with the skeleton's, I think thats brilliant.

Yes, that one in the Bat2 booklet, thats great! But the one with this blue monster in the booklet is good, too.
