Default Meat unhappy with Peel Out??

(FROM THE FAQ)

Does Meat have any songs that he just cannot stand?

Meat wasn't happy with the way some songs on "Blind Before I Stop" were mixed with a dance beat. "If You Really Want To" (from "Midnight At The Lost & Found") he has said he "hates with a passion". "Peel Out" is another song that springs to mind.

Peel Out?? But why?? I LOVE that song!

I don't know which songs he doesn't like but I think he thinks his worst album is Midnight At The Lost and Found...I have to agree...

If Meat didn't like it, how come he played it in Vienna, 1988?

The NLE played an amazing instrumental break from Peel Out during that tour as a bridge and it worked extremely well. I'm not aware that Meat ever sang any of the lyrics.

You're probably right. I've only been told that song was performed in Vienna but wasn't aware in what form..

Another item of interest: Steinman recycled the lines about "I wanna go on the red... etc." for an alternate verse of 'Rebel Without A Clue'. It appears in the lyric-book but is not actually sung

Interesting...

No it isn't

Hasn't Meat Loaf sung Bad For Good live once? and I thought he didn't like that song.

Bad For Good was included in the set-list during Meat's 1988 Lost Boys & Golden Girls Tour. There was a section in the show where songs from Neverland were performed. The NLE did Come In The Night and the Goff sisters sang Original Sin. Meat would then come on and play the part of Hook, (complete with eye patch and hook hand), and sing Bad For Good, Dance In My Pants and Lost Boys & Golden Girls. This is from memory .... there were probably other songs in that sequence as well.

So Meat has certainly given those songs an airing live and has made his own decisions on them.

Anyone remember the rumours (post BAT II) of Meat starring as Captain Hook in BAT OUT OF HELL 2100?
