didnt really work. Itunes tells me that I can only sync with one library/computer at a time, and that I'd have to delete everything that is on my ipod to sync with this pc.
Would it help if I exported the library from the old one and imported it to my new computer? But that way it's still have the wrong paths for every file...

Default Problem

In the past I've always used Sound Forge 7 for editing any music files I may have. After my recent hard drive disaster I now have Sound Forge 10 and something that is really irritating me.

Whenever I save a file, it always adds an extra half a second or so of silence to the end. This is obviously a pain in the arse if one track is supposed to flow into the next. I've tried using different file types and always get the same problem.

Any ideas?

Really hope someone can help me here ... does anyone know how I can find a list / log of all the times (say for the last couple of months) that my pc has been turned on / logged on (and if possible turned/logged off again)??? I'm sure it must be possible, I just can't think what I would do. I'm on Vista, by the way.

Really boring reason ... sent laptop to be fixed. It wasn't fixed, they said they couldn't see what the problem was. Supposed to be monitoring when I use it and when it has a problem - which is most days, hence part of the reason I don't bother with it so much anymore. I keep forgetting to log it... but I think I remember which days I had probs just not which times. If I get them wrong tho, it would appear to laptop repair shop that I'm making it all up rather than just being scatty.

Does anyone have any idea how to unfreeze a laptop?

Joanne was on it before and it froze.
She brought it to me, who had the bright idea of closing the laptop.
I opened it again and there are lines all over the screen.
Nothing on the laptop works at all.

If I can close it down it might restart OK, but i've tried everything (the power button, escape/tab/delete) but nothing is working.

Cheers.

Take the battery out. Leave it a while to cool down, put the battery back in and restart it.

There are three things that can be unscrewed from the bottom, and i've no idea which one is the battery

What make and model is it?

Are there any clips on the bottom?

Worst case just unplug it and leave it till the battery goes flat, which could be a matter of an hour or two or could be days (he adds helpfully)

It's an Aspire One acer notebook.

Tried unscrewing the three plates off the bottom, but nothing looking like a battery under any of them.

Trackerball type i assume. Did you try lifting the ball out, and cleaning the contacts?
