Default New Steinman bio update

Jacqueline Dillon has posted a new update of Jim Steinmans bio on Rockman, with future projects etc.

Check it out fully ----> HERE and here's a snippet.

He is currently working on a massive stage spectacle, to be staged in a theatre expressly designed & built for it. It will be moveable too. The show, which may be co-written with Terry Jones of Monty Python fame, will feature motorcyclists doing astounding stunts, BMX riders, skateboarders and a corps of amazing dancers from all around the globe, including the most incredible flying ever seen by a troupe of Russian wizards. All Jim’s songs will be chosen by Jim, and three major new ones too. There is also a new film musical being written by Stuart Beattie, of "Collateral" and "Pirates of the Caribbean", using all Jim's songs. Jim has also created a new show for Disney TV, an animated show, for the new JET-X channel, a "hipper" Disney animated format, closer to anime. He will write a song a week, and executive produce. The show is developed to use the ORANGE COUNTY CHOPPERS, from TLC's top rated show "MASTER CHOPPERS." It is called "BIKERS OF THE ROUND TABLE".

Tanz der Vampire productions are now playing in Berlin, Tokyo, Poland and Hungary, and there is an upcoming movie of Tanz der Vampire planned as well. Whistle Down The Wind, for which he wrote lyrics to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s music, is running again in London’s West End, where it opened to RAVE REVIEWS and rapturous audience response. Finally he, along with Steven Rinkoff, has formed a new group, The Dream Engine, to deliver Jim’s new songs and some classics in a unique and thrilling way

It sound...errrrrr...interesting

I wonder if that film musical will really happen. I always thought Steinman would be a great songwriter for a film musical.
I had imagined Pandora's Box could have headed into that direction, though maybe it would have needed a more consistent story line for that, something about teenagers doomed in Gotham City or so. I'd rather see that than a film version of Whistle.
Maybe Meat could have a part in the musical, alongside some other great singers and good looking dancers. However nothing too cheesy though -read cheesy Steinman videos from the 80s-! I've heard Spielberg still wants to direct a musical at some time, this could/should be it!

What film version of Whistle? The article just says that Tanz might become a film and that Whistle is back on stage in London's West End

I was just hypothosizing. I would have thought an Andrew Llyod Webber-related film project is easier to get off the ground than a Jim Steinman musical.
However I'd rather have something new from Steinman rather than Whistle if that were to happen. That's what I meant.

I wonder what kind of musical this will be. I'd thought it would be rather hard to make a story out of randomly selected existing Steinman songs.

Excellent, he sounds like a very busy man. That anime show with a song a week may stretch his talent thin tho- as we all know it takes Steinman a long time to create and perfect his songs, I get the feeling he would just be 'production lining' some average songs for such a show. The musical movie tho written by Stuart Beattie sounds like an excellent idea.

Saying that http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0389722/ looks to be more up Jims street

It could be it's not up IMDB yet. Beattie's list only goes to 2007, which is only next year. That Baz Luhrmann film might be quite a good guess as Kidman is in it (who can sing okay IMO) and he did do Moulin Rouge, which was great. However probably none of these on that list are musicals

I quite like the Baz Luhrman one, as like you say Kidman isn't that bad of a singer and Hugh Jackman is an excellent singer with a background in musical theatre. However 30 Days of Night has a bloodthirsty gang of vampires in it, which has Jim Steinman written all over it.
