Lots of people don't like the 3/4 waltzes stuff. I think they make quite a refreshing sound on the albums including Martha and Let's be in Love.

I can't really think of one I don't like they're all good for different moods I think. I didn't really like Rock and Roll dreams till I heard it live but that's about it

Dead Ringer is one of my favorites (especially version with Patti) ... Anyway what I was going to write? ... Oh yes - the worst song ever done by Meat is ... "One More Kiss (Night Of The Soft Parade)".

There are songs sung by Meat that I like less, but don't hate any. I guess I like the least is "burning down". That is a song that I listen to less often, but at some point I always go back and have a listen to the older albums.
I think my favorite older album is "Blind before I stop" b/c the music is great and that is a very good album picture. BTW,"Martha" and " A man and a woman" are two of my favorites, esp the later. |

Apologies folks
Oh well, what can i say.......
It pains me to say but for me it's....and more than one!!! It's gotta be Blind before album. I just don't feel the vibe with that album. I have listened to it enough times to try and convert myself but i find myself popping bad attitude back in the cd player. God i love piece of the action!!!!!!!!! But i am old!!! Take care all. |

I'm waiting for that moment to happen with me, again, for this song. I have a feeling it's going to slap me upside the head when I'm not paying attention .

That is what happened to me yesterday when I listened to "cry over me". It just gave me chills. It is really an amazing song. A " man and a woman", is so sweet and sentimental. I cry when I hear " where angles sing".

Me too. I think it depends on the mood you're in. I played LBIL last night and I rather enjoyed it. I wish they had done something different with the ending, but 3/4 of the song is really good and there's so much emotion in the vocals. I bet if the song was performed live, it would really be emotional and powerful.

Why is it in a different order to the list you posted above? Also you've spelled Numer 6 wrong!

I have The Masters album, and I honestly think that half of the album is total tosh with 80s dance beats over the tracks

My views of changed recently, thanks to WarioLoaf - his live recordings of Left in the Dark and Nowhere Fast on YouTube, more precisely. Meat's version of Left in the Dark (studio) does nothing for me, but live it is just AMAZING. Nowhere Fast, still not the greatest, but live is far better than the recording off of Bad Attitude.
Going to add Paradise and Anything For Love to my list of unloved, actually. They annoy me. Not so much live, but the studio recordings really irritate me. The MSO recordings are actually the only versions of these two that I actually like. Last edited by Mr. Happy; 07 Aug 2010 at 08:33. Reason: Added first paragraph |

The best versions I have ever heard of " Nowhere Fast" is off of a CD that also has " Tonight is what if means to be young" ( Jim steinman)is off a Cd that is a compilation of songs. I have it somewhere, can't recall the name of it. Streets of Fire. That is it.

Apologies
I think the Bat Trilogy was great, and loved every song on the albums.
WWTN was great also, fitted fairly well, good songs, His 80's albums fit in here nicely, few songs not sure of but genuinely good CHSIB was average saved only by Patti and CHSIB single, rest could be wiped! Now dont shoot me but.... HCT in its entirety can be discarded. The songs are poor, lyrics bland and the music is not that great! I love Meat, ive listened to his music since i was 7 years old and went to my first gig at the SECC. I love listening the the Bat Trilogy etc as I get lost in another world, caught up in the lyrics and music, and can sit for hours totally zoned on the music and passion of the songs. But unfortunately for me, and its just my opinion but HCT is totally wrong for Meat and it pains me to say it. |
