I'd say that for the sake of avoiding confusion and annoying people in future why not just clearly watermark any pics posted

Or maybe just don't bother sharing if it causes all this hassle lol. I for one find it very time consuming to not only have to resize, fotoshop 200 plus pictures a show. Then to have to upload them, or in my case make a webpage or two for each show. Then to have to do a page on here and all the other sites with them on. To then have to watermark them as well, takes even longer and drives me insane. it actually takes me over 12 hrs to do the pictures for just one show alone. Surely common sense should just tell people that if someone posts personal pictures on a fan forum or fansite then they aren't exactly up for posting all over the net as their own And why would people even want to? This is a problem thats been going on for yrs. Thats my rant over lol |

My opinion (and I'm obviously the only one) is that I dont care who uses them.
I dont watermark my pictures and I dont care who's reposting what on which page. I see that people who put a lot of effort into taking pictures/editing/uploading want credit for their work, that's understandable, but I just take pictures to show them to the people who are interested in them, and that's all I care about. |

If I only uploaded 1 or 2 pics a tour I woudln't give a rats arse either
But 200 plus pics x 22 shows so far this tour alone. A little thank you and not haivng them stolen wouldn't go a miss At the end of the day we're all just posting them to share with others who want to see them. Doesn't mean we want them passed off as other peoples |

I wouldn't take anybody else's picture intentionally for profit or otherwise but I don't care if anybody takes my posted picture...I figure that's what I took them for - to share... |

It's the common courtesy issue ...
If you want to use someone elses picture for any reason (especially when the reson is to post it elsewhere online), then it's common courtesy and politeness to ask. Most don't have a problem with this, especially if credit is given where it's due. If you want to sell someones pictures for personal gain then it's common courtesy and politeness to jump off the nearest tall building. |
