Actually, I do like a bit of harpsichord. I think I may be strange ...

It's also fun just to rummage in the shop because you might discover some nice items by accident. When purchasing something online you already gotta know what exactly you're looking for.

No, sorry. I'm willing to buy a physical product (e.g. a CD album) or a concert ticket (as long as I like what he has to offer) but I won't waste money on a download. I also don't think that I have to "support" him. If I like a product, I'll buy it, if I don't I won't.

I'd consider to download a song if it's a good song that's not available on the album but since singles are supposed to promote albums this won't be the case.

I even prefare buying from the shops rather than ordering from a company like Amazon (which i've never used )

If Meat brings out a new release, I think it's better to put on your fave Meat T shirt of the moment, head into town, pick up one of each format the single is available in, and when you've got your records, take yourself off for something to eat (even if it's only a macies)before going home and having a good listen

True.
They might not produce the best sound in the world, but they do look great :rgreen:
Yeah I prefer that too, going to the shop and buying the CD rather than buying online from somewhere like Amazon or ebay, but unfortunately I had no choice with the last 2 Meat Loaf albums, as no singles were released in Australia. Plus you have the added expense of paying for postage so it costs twice as much as just going into your local record shop and buying it. Let's hope the new record company gets its act together and releases singles in Australia for the new album. They seem to forget Anything For Love went No 1 in Australia first before anywhere else in the world.

That's strange. He did promotion in Australia, talked a lot about IACBTMN on T.V., as far as I remember, yet there weren't any singles released?

You'd have been far better off making the point that singles are predominantly bought by young people, whereas oldies prefer buying albums. This is not a new phenomenon.

The actual difference that downloads are making is that people can pick and choose which tracks they want off an album, rather than having to buy the whole thing.

crinklies? oldies? id call those people fans!!

Take it easy. I've read the above about five times so far, yet I don't get what you're trying to express.

I don't really get this support meat loaf thing because many of us have spent into the hundreds and possibly thousands to buy albums, merchandise and shows and that if we don't support him this time around we have in some way betrayed him and are not a true fan, which is BS.

Downloads seem pretty common practice now, hell go to tesco's website and you can just about pay to get all the latest singles and the majority of releases by Meat as well.

If I were Meat's management I wouldn't be advising them to go all out to try and get a hit single, if you're releasing a single fine but do not choose the single simply based on radio friendly songs, like it's all coming back to me now and cry over me, actually go and release a song that can rock and has a changed of being respected and liked more then bought by what is left of the sheep mentality people who purchase singles.

Yeah that's true, he did do a lot of promotion here for the album and the single IACBTMN, but the single wasn't realeased here. It doesn't make sense. They showed snippets of the film clip, but it was never shown on our video hits show here. I went to numerous record shops asking about it, and they all said the same thing, in fact shows how little they know, they said no singles had been released at all anywhere, I was going to get them to order it for me, then I found out there had been and got it from Amazon.
