Default true stories

When...

You go to a pub and you spend all your coins on the jukebox to watch the CHSIB video at least ten times...

You come back home to see your parents and remember to visit the local cd store where you used to go as a teenager and the store manager recognises you after 7 (!) years and says: "Are you still in this Meat Loaf thing?" - you nod and then "I have something for you!"

You try to convert all your family without success and finally, while watching Meat performing 2 Out Of 3 for the twentieth time, mom says "It's beautiful... can you translate it for me?"

Your brother doesn't want to hear Meat anymore - he's a hip hop fan! - 'cause he says (in his own words) "Meat sings TOO LOUD"! (really?)

Your sister is fed up and tells you to stop talking about Meat and you say "Have you already forgotten Happy Bob in Zurich ?" and she smiles...

Your mom tells you "You are in love with Meat Loaf!" and you respond "Mom... you know I love you... but you don't understand a thing about ROOOOOOOOCK 'N' ROOOOOOOOOLL!!!!!!!"

and so on...

LostSoul, FM & others,
sounds like there's a lot of us doing this.

Here's some more...

When...
you go to tape the DirectTV showing of the Mexican concert at your 97 yo Grandma's...and she wants to watch it to see what you are into!

both sets of our parents (60s & 70s) ask us...what happened to Meat Loaf (after the collapse).

you tell someone you are taking a trip and they respond...is there a Meat Loaf concert there?

you decide to forego your winter escape to sunny Mexico to go to London in Jan., because Meat is playing there!

ROCK ON MEAT LOAF FANS!

Riiiiiight... and the question is: do we need a shrink?

One more:

When you read all articles about Meat on the web and you find one describing him in a so disrespectful way that makes you want to kill the journalist
and instead you send him an e-mail telling him how ignorant he is and how he should at least make a research and listen to Meat's music 'cause apparently he doen't have the slightest idea what is talking about!!!

but finally you advise him not to listen to Meat's work 'cause HE DOESN'T DESERVE IT! (yes... I did it! )

I've done that too. It's so much easier. Also got BOOH as my ring tone on my mobile.

Default one more

When you're telling your best friends how you managed to go to the very front of the arena.
You waited for hours before the doors were opened, then you rushed like a bat out of hell to the barrier!
You were so close that when Meat approached, roaring like an angel, his sweat reached everyone in the front! INCLUDING YOU!

and your friends respond in chorus: "yuk!"

and you say: "noooo, it was so cooooool!"

...hmmm... Zurich...1994...

I did this also. The store didn't have any CHSIB on the endcap with the new releases. So I not only put some in the new release section, but also in the #1 slot in the top 10 section.

How about when -- you meet someone for the first time and after 1/2 hour they look at you and say" Yeah, you do look like a Meat Loaf fan."

Yup- St Petersburg, FL 1989. My husband shudders when I tell him that story (could be because I always say "did I tell you about that time Meat Loaf sweat all over me?" ) However, it was a hella hella thrill for me- one that I'd love to repeat some day!

When you tell the DJ at a party to play some meatloaf and your the only one left dancing and your mates are all hiding in the corner.

when your bat out of hell CD has been played so many times that you have to buy another copy because it wont play anymore

This is allways so when people pay a visit to me... hahaha. Even if it ain't Meat Loaf music, they still must turn the volume down.

SEE!!!

I always have to explain to people why I own several copies of the same Meat Loaf album- even when the old cd wont play- you have to keep it for nostalgia purposes!!!

and alternate releases of the cd (with different live tracks!!)

And you have to own the vinyl for nostalgia purposes

and the picture disc vinyl

...and the tapes

Okay- so I have a FEW copies of each album...

But you guys understand, RIGHT????!!!!

- when your two cats sleep totally relaxed directly next to your speakers when playing Meat Loaf on your cd-player (usually they always get alerted when theres only a little noise and I play Meat's music not "little" )

Yes, I've gone through several *more 13* albums and I need to replace them, but they still play for now.
But I've got a few:
*When this one lady has decided your name is Loafie
*When you see your grandmother for Christmas and she tells you to not talk about Meat Loaf
*When you slowly convert your friends to Loafism and your other friends say "you'll never take me alive!"

I just love this thread. You are all wacked...and make me feel so normal now.

Here's one for the Meat/Kasim fans...
when you mention Kasim's new album, Quid Pro Quo and say..well you know him, he's Meat's Music Director. They are still like .

Yeah Kasim Sulton, he used to be in Utopia w/ Todd Rundgren, played w/ Hall & Oates, Joan Jett...still

I tell ya, some people just don't know sheet about good music and great musicians! JMHO

Oh! yes! some1 else that feels their friends need to learn that the best music to listen to is meat and tries to convert their friends whilst their friends try and find the easiest and fastest exit out of the room!

When you buy each and every album on which Meat performs...
even The Glory Of Gershwin on which Meat sings "Somebody Loves Me".

funny song by the way...
