As for Meat not singing live - you've misunderstood the whole arguement - of course its all live - but Mexico TV showing used a lot of CD over the top of meats voice at times - how cant you tell Vicki - theres times he was singing but his mouth wasn't moving or times his mouth was moving but there was so sound, watch more closely and pay more attention to the show and you'll see it.

Again for the last time - what is being said is that Meat did the whole show live but at times his voice was rough so during Mixing they substituted his voice with the CD. CHSIB is so so so so so obvoius
Thank you for clarifying that!

ps: sometimes I need a little translation

Like I said earlier, it wasn't that obvious to me. C'est la vie .... they did what they had to do .... but it won't take away from me enjoying a great show ! Since I'm not in the UK right now .... it's still the next best thing to being there

Now if they just listen to us and release one of the current European shows on DVD .... that would be fantastic

No, LostSoul, I really don't see anything 'demanding' about that!
You are just expressing your wishes...and mine.

The only thing I've heard is that they're going to film one of the concerts in Australia that Meat is doing the orchestra, and release it as a live CD / DVD combination. I wonder if they're still planning on doing that

I don't know about any of the other concerts though .. it would be nice !

Vicki
oat least something like a history of... I still dont know about any other live dvd concerts or previous videos that have been released or not? I mean are their any still available in stores anywhere????

The Storytellers DVD (1999) should still be available ... but I'm not sure about the Bat Out of Hell II Picture Show. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but the only other 2 live videos are Meat Loaf Live and Bad Attitude Live :)
Sometimes you can find all of them listed on Ebay.

There's also the original Hits Out Of Hell vid with the Dead Ringer vid, and the Classic Albums Bat Out Of Hell documentery.

I know Bad Attitude, Bat II, HOOH, are out of print.
I don't know if Classic Albums is still available.
Meat Loaf live can still be found in shops.

I think its insane that they havent released a REAL Meat Loaf show on DVD, after all these monster tours throughout the years. Im sure most people who saw Meat would want some sort of keep sake. They just HAVE to release a live DVD from the CHSIB tour! - if not we must take to the streets and protest! Lol! Would prefer them release a UK arena show or the proposed show with the orchestra in Australia.

Wish i could see this Mexico show now to hear and see what you guys are talking about! I wouldnt blame Meat if he wanted support from a backing track every now and then (you hear the CD version of CHSIB kick in for only a few words on the bonus disk recording thats comes with the Australian version of the album)... actually thought it was quite a neat effect - Meat singing to his own backing vocal for a few seconds!

Of course, Meat, you could always do the sensible thing and slow down, do fewer shows, play bigger venues (let us come to you), stop letting yourself become the victim of crazy tour schedules (UK 2003/2004 zig zagging the British Isles instead of playing the same venue for a few nights in a row like any other performer would - and save yourself the trauma of travelling...) some would say quality not quantity? - least you'd be taking better care of YOUR health.

Take care,
Ewan

Hi, I am a lucky girl! for my birthday and christmas this week I got 2 meat loaf dvd's one of which was the Storytellers. I can't help but observe (with apologies to our american users) that it may have worked better with a UK audience. Perhaps I am a little biased but the members of the audience seemed a little reserved, whereas UK fans may have let themselves go a bit more. All the same it is good and Meat is wonderful and relaxed in it. Happy New Year to you all.

Meat could rent the Wembley Arena for a whole month...
and play ALL the shows there!

I'll be there... in the front row... for a month!

I would have to highly agree with Chris on this matter. It is definatley NOT live when I hear Meat's voice, but don't see lips move. I highly doubt Meat was using "tracks" while performing on stage (only Fire Ball would know the real answer to this), but the Mexico show was highly "fixed" - ain't no doubt about it! What I witness when I popped in the video did not decieve me, I heard Meat Loaf singing when there were close-ups on him and his lips were not moving.

Dammit ... I'm getting old. Now I have to go out and get glasses and a hearing aid :)

After it was pointed out to me, I listened again with my ear-phones on...and yes. You are right, I was wrong!
I think it must have been added later.

When i listen to some recordings from the shows in Germany, i hear the second verse of CHSIB ( i believe it was in frankfurt, not sure) and i immediately got the feeling that it was not live. Same story with the seccond or third verse in Testify.

But

Meat still got all the 4 octaves. Paradise live in Oberhausen: After deep dark nite he sings loud the way he does it many times. Paradiiiiise and then louder by the daaaash and then louder booaaaaard and then octave higher and very very loud: liiiight. O djeeeez very very good.

About the Mexican concert: i think its a shame. it is ridicilous. Why he overdubt some parts? Jesus, it makes me angry. A true born artist, a beast on stage is overdubbing a live concert. It is ri-di-ci-lous!!
