It was back in 1993 when I was 11 and my dad was on about this ace song that was going to be released called "I'd do anything for love". I saw it on TV and was blown away by both song and video. At the time I didn't know anything about Meat but asked my dad what else Meat Loaf had released cos I loved the whole dramatic bat thing. I heard Dead Ringer on a free tape I got from a petrol station and it all kicked off from there. My uncle persuaded me to sing 'I'd do anything for love' at a party and I've still got it on camcorder today! It sounds quite good cos my cousins are in the background doing backing vocals and it's like a music video. I've bought every single album and enjoyed them all. I suppose I've got my dad to thank really. Cheers dad!!

I'm 17, so I must have been about 6 when I heard AFL somewhere! First song that I knew the full title and artists name, and at 6 that was a huge achievement! Saw Bat II lying on video cabinet beside the stereo that year as Mam got it for Christmas, looked at the cover and thought "That looks interesting!" then thought no more of it. Yet I atill kept recognising AFL and knowing I like it. Was about 5 years later when I was sick of music and wanted something bigger, better, louder, and Mam said "Let's listen to Meat Loaf on the way to the caravan!" I've never looked back!

I'm 40 and first heard Meat's stuff in 1979 (AFL) when I was into general/heavy rock like ZZ Top, Led Zep etc. but Meat always had a special place in my heart - with INTELLIGENT rock! We all loved his stuff at University as well as another American rocker - Brucie - but I had to fight Meat's corner all the time!
Only my youngest daughter (6) likes Meat, but she really DOES LOVE his music and sings a cracking Paradise. Proud to be introducing the next generation.... |

I'm 41 years old and the first time I heard Meat Loaf was in 1978. I bought "Bat Out Of Hell" and in 1993 I bought "Bat 2". Only now I discover that he made so much more beautiful music. I just can't wait for "Bat 3"! |

I am 17, and have been listening to Meat for as long as I can remember. I've grown up listening to Meat's music, and as I was only very little when I started listening I can't remember what the first song/album I ever heard was.
