Watch Meat's mouth just before it cuts aswell because you will notice that it is out of sequence.

The sound on the MSO DVD is mastered up to DTS 5.1 quality. There is tons of compression on the vocals, so even if Meat does take the mic away, the voice will still be heard. However, there are obviously some 'overdubs'. The show was recorded over two nights, right? They took the best bits of BOTH nights and edited them together. Say for instance, he sang the chorus of a song better on night 2, but the verse better on night 1?! Simple - mix them together, then put this 'new' audio mix on top of the filmed footage. END OF DEBATE.

Apparantly at one of the half time shows a couple of years ago someone noticed that Shania Twain's vocals sounded a bit too perfect in parts (ie like the original song) the article (think it was on msn.com) basically went on to say that they had the original track playing on the soundboard and if any note is sounding flat they push up the original lyric with the sound delay.
This may or may not be something Meat has done on the MSO dvd, who knows...I did notice it on ICHSIBM on the slow part ('then you say nothing at all, so many times etc..) when it gets to Meat's line 'Well i couldn't have said it better myself' and patti goes on with 'now you finish me off...', that meats voal sounded a bit too like the original. I think that was the only time though. At the end of it all who cares, the man doesn't mime everything like a lot of pop artists and it was because of the effort that he was putting into the live vocal that he collapsed on stage. So i'll take 99.999999% live vocal and the rest original sound anyday. |

Surely this is the whole point of having recorded it over 2 nights in the first place? |
