I hope he takes the time he may need to truly get back 100%, and does not rush to return to performing before he may be completely well, rested, and fit. The fans, although disappointed, can wait certainly. Will be much better to see him when he is strong and can rock the venues...
Has anyone heard if there is any prayer or hope that he will return to California after the holidays to make up a few cancelled concerts here as well? I had tickets to two that were cancelled, and I would absolutely love another opportunity to see him in concert again. I saw him at Universal last summer, and it was just great to experience him performing the music live. Feel better soon Meat, and please take care of yourself first and foremost! Di |

I agree .... his health is the most important thing. Thankfully his heart surgery was a success, and it sounds like he's going to be just fine :) I would give anything to be there in Australia to see him in February ... those shows are going to be amazing ![]() Atlantic City in September has been our little tradition over the last few years .... September 2001 (the first time I saw him live), September 2002, September 2003 ... and I just hope he doesn't forget that and can make it for September 2004 !! Good luck with your move :) Vicki |

Got this from www.meatloaf-oifc.com
[color=red]UPDATE: 11/28/03 MERCURY RECORDS PRESS CONFERENCE A press conference held this morning at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, with media from press, TV and radio present. Meat Loaf announced that his doctors had given him the "all clear" to resume his tour in Dublin on Tuesday, thereafter performing at all the remaining dates through December, health permitting. The dates which had to be postponed, are being rescheduled. Two very important messages Meat wanted to get across were... 1. He was told by his promoters that as he had performed for over one hour at the Wembley show, that he did not need to reschedule this show. He has decided however that this is unfair on the fans, as they did not see a full Meat show, and he is planning to reschedule this show again also. 2. He wanted to thank all the nurses and doctors who had helped him while he has been in the UK. ***not confirmed with management, as of yet Hope this helps. Simon |

The Daily Record (Dec 1st)
![]() Claims that a "number of international specialists have been working round the clock. Unfortunately they have confirmed that the stress of the collapse means it's unlikely that, despite a lot of support, there'll be any more live performances onstage again. A spokesperson for the stage said it would be a great loss and it would be much laminated." http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/columni...l&siteid=89488 Please, this must be garbage?!? Take care Ewan |

Very doubtful, Meat loves performing and would never bow out at this stage, no matter what anyone says to him.

This article sounds like typical tabloid over-sensationalism. I think (hope) they meant "lamented" NOT "laminated"! ![]() Diane |

I hate to say this, but i agree with Diane and Ewan that its a 'joke' piece, but actually they seem to be referring, in poor taste, to the state of the STAGE after the collapse, and not the artist. Therefore the jokes about laminating, 'support', etc. Take care!

Of some use for wrapping a fish supper .. but not worth reading for news ..
And Meat saying at a Press Conference that he's a little anxious (understandably) about resuming the tour as he's been through a lot and has been in bed for over 2 weeks is hardly an "anxiety attack" .. but they can't find what they want to print they make it up .. hey .. why spoil a good story with the truth eh? |

i am 35 yeras old and have just gone through the same procedure that meat went through. without the operation i was sure to have died. i also cheated death. the recevery will take a while to get back my strenth just as meat will have to do . as much energy that meat gives on stage it will be a while for that. as i waited in recovery i had my headphones on listening to meats new cd. i figured if there were going to be complications i want to go out happy lol. but so far so good. i hope meat is doing good also. not only is the physical strength weaken but also the mental part of it too. alot of worry . but from reading the articles it looks like meat will be back up very soon. i can't wait to see him in concert again. i hope i get the chance. meat you rock

Thank you, Pinky! I'm SO glad to hear that things are going better for you!! And I pray it continues to be so!!!
I wasn't going to get into this topic, but the subject of anxiety attacks, obviously, is one that is near and dear to my heart, since I have suffered from them for most of my life and that's a lotta years now. ![]() There have been times when they have stopped me and limited my life, and other times, like this past summer, where I was able to travel nearly 2500 miles, following Meat and the band to the various concerts in my area. So, one can't say that just because a person is having Panic Attacks, that they are NEVER going to do this or that again! It's just plain NOT true! Every case is different. Every person is different. And we are different at different times in our lives, if that makes sense. Tbe anxiety attacks which Meat says he has been experiencing, Ewan, are quite normal, as others have told you here. He has gone through something incredibly scary these past few weeks. And his confidence is down. But the more he rehearses (and we all know that when Meat rehearses, he puts his whole heart and soul into them--just as he does his concerts), his confidence will grow stronger and stronger. And once he finally gets the first song or two under his belt in a real concert, then I believe, from my own experiences in life, that these 'attacks' will go away and NEVER come back for him. Now I am NOT comparing what I (and several other people at the forum) have, with what Meat has and what Pinky went through. They are very different and we have them for different reasons. I wanted to make that very clear. But like everyone else, I think that this writer wanted to come up with a sensational story for his paper and this is what came into his head. But by what he writes, he knows nothing, really, on this subject!! Meat is a very strong-willed and determined man and has been all his life. He even wanted to do the show on Sunday, but it was decided that it was best to give him a little more time. He knows that once "you've been thrown from a horse, you just have to get back on it and try again." So, throw the paper out! It IS rubbish!! Meat will be back, when he's ready to be back!!! And hopefully, we will all be hearing more official news on that soon!! Hope this helps. Love to everyone, MB xxx |

I can't believe that people are even taking this seriously! The whole column is a spoof....like where he says that that if Michael Jackson "disguised himself as a 40 year old black man" it would have been safer.
The clue is in the phrase "A spokesperson for the stage" and not "A spokesperson for the star". That's also why they used the word laminated and not lamented (a pun). It was reported on another mailing list that the day after Meat's collapse at Wembley that either Letterman or Leno made a similar joke that Meat Loaf would recover but it was doubtful that the stage would. Not funny if you were there but it's what comedians / column writers do. It's in poor taste but it's the same as when anyone famous dies, it doesn't take long for the jokes to circulate. Seriously I think that before anything is taken as gospel, I think it's important to consider the source. If Meat Loaf wasn't going back on stage again, the new would hardly first be conveyed in the Steve McKenna column of The Daily Record. Like yesterday here when a rumour went round that the rest of the tour was cancelled and this was from a text from a friend of someone who said they saw it on the Welsh version of Teletext. Unless the source is reputable, don't take any notice of it and certainly don't start panicking about it until it is confirmed is my advice. SueW |

i totally agree MB, when he gets to maybe the second song he will
be fine, or maybe even once he hears the crowd his anxiety will disappear.... for me it is usually once i get back inside my front door... but it is thanks to meat that i managed to get outside of it in the first place. i agree suew, i doubt that would be where meat would choose to let these things be known. |

Thanks for the explanation, Sue! Some of us are not familiar with your papers and what they are like. Didn't read any of the column, but the part dealing with Meat. So, after your comments, I went back and had a good laugh!!
![]() Our newspapers here are mostly serious. Can't say that for our tabloids, though!! I don't read anything in them without laughing.... ![]() Yeah, Kezzina, I know what you mean. There is always great relief walking in the front door!! But the important thing is being outside in order to be able to walk IN!! ![]() Thanks again, Sue, for bringing a new perspective to this!! Love, MB xxx |
