cause its the best (or the only?) way to split it up in a way that the minutes/seconds make sense. Otherwise an hour would have 85,934 minutes, etc. and a minute had 52,94654 seconds. Of course, they could have gone with 12 hours (each lasting 120 minutes), and so on, but I guess this is the least complicated and easiest calculatable way.

Didnt even know it existed until a few weeks ago. Appearantly it is HUGE in hte uk, strange as nobody over here knows it.

it is strange, we dont have anything like it over here.
All (well most) of the German tv series are.....crap. The interesting stuff is always coming from the US. And now I discovered that theres this huge hype in the UK about it. We dont have anything comparable. Something completely different.
