Question What is "your song"?

we all know that: you hear a song and you have the feeling the song is about you. Or maybe a specific moment/occurance/time in your life.

Now, what is "your song"? (doesnt necessarily have to be Meat or Jim related)
A short explanation why would be nice.

Mine would be "Alive", as I used to have to fight a lot against people, and their prejudices and ignorances, who didnt want me to go where, or be what, I wanted to. But now I can look back at that time and know that I made it, no matter what everyone said.

How about you?

There's a lot of them I can certainly relate too, and have been able to identify with at different times of my life.

I think it's one of the reasons his music is so popular, it's about very real emotions.

Can I have 2 please?

I have had some health problems that led to me doing something that I now see to be silly on at least 3 occasions and on these times as I recovered and for quite some time afterwards I found a huge amount of relief and solace from Heaven Can Wait.

On a similar note more recently I find myself listening to Alive and using it on bad days to remind myself that I never want to go there again.

I know I am not alone in finding great emotional relief in Meat's songs infact with lyrics this powerful and full of feeling its not surprising is it?

Default Your song..

'My song', has, and probably will be for a long time to come, 'For crying out loud'. It seems to sum up everything I was experiencing at the time. I'm not going to bore you with the details, but as with most of Meat's songs they stir-up emotions that people can relate to a some time in their lives.

Since you had to ask, from Wikipedia
Quote:
"Your Song" is a ballad composed and performed by musician Elton John. The song's lyrics were written by Bernie Taupin. It appeared on John's self-titled second album in 1970.

"My" song (big shock coming here...) is Rock and Roll Dreams. Everyone at some point experiences an event or a period of time that's far from easy and you need that extra bit of strength to get you through, well R&RD is that energy source. Even though there are memories attached to that song that aren't particularly nice for me, my memory is of the comfort and strength that the song gave me after something horrible, and to finally see it live last year was an amazing thing for me

You're never alone 'cause you can put on the 'phones and let the drummer tell your heart what to do... spot on

Mine is AFL. Not really any particular reason why but it's my favourite, it's the one I identify most with and when I'm out somewhere and hear it unexpectedly I can recognise it by the first note and can't stop smiling all the way through it being played

same here - Love You Out Loud is my favourite
and second is What about Love? - everytime I play it it reminds me of London and all the good time I had there. I dunno why it does, I never heard it while I was living there.

Wasted Youth and Everything Louder than Everything Else...not going to bore anybody why I think that wasted youth is better by far than an old and productive age...
