Rare Limited RAH Memorabilia Offer
Almost all of us remember the fantastic night that was October 16th 2006, which was spent in the company of Meat Loaf, The Neverland Express and so many members from these forums at The Royal Albert Hall.
As a reminder of this event MLUKFC has secured a very limited number of posters advertising this sold out show. These are an outstanding piece of memorabilia which we're sure many of you will wish to add to your collections. The poster, which is pictured below, measures 60" by 40" and is the sort of poster seen outside the venue and around London during the run up to the show 18 months ago. We've managed to get our hands on 4 of these posters which are now being offered to forum members. Because numbers of these are so limited and we expect that demand will be high, we're not offering these on a first come first served basis, as this favours whoever is online at the time this message is posted. Nor are we offering these in a direct standard auction, as this favours those with the fattest cheque books. Instead, we're offering these posters at a fixed price, in an inverse auction. The details of which are outlined below. By entering the auction you agree to pay the price that we set for the posters which is as follows: Poster £15 plus delivery charges. Within the UK delivery charges are as follows: add £5 for standard delivery (up to 3 business days, with no parcel tracking). or add £10 for next business day delivery by 1pm (with parcel tracking, and delivery signed for). Members in foreign countries (Europe, USA etc) should contact AndyK for delivery prices. All posters will be delivered in a rigid cardboard tube which will protect it in transit and storage. So, how do you "bid" for a poster then? Quite simply. Bid the lowest amount in Pence, that you want for the poster. To place a bid, send a PM to AndyK, with the subject line "RAH Poster Auction". Your PM should only contain the amount that you are bidding. Each PM sent will be acknowledged. The four lowest unique bids received by PM to AndyK will be accepted, and the four bidders will be contacted to arrange payment and delivery. So you have to use your skill and judgement to decide how low you want your bid to be. Remember your lowest bid has to be unique. So for example, if the following seven bids are received : Bidder A 23p Bidder B 25p Bidder C 23p Bidder D 4356p Bidder E 1p Bidder F 24p Bidder G 4357p Then the bids of Bidders A and C are effectively canceled as they are both for the same amount. Bidders B D, E and F would win the poster as they have the four lowest unique bids. Bidder G would not win as their bid is the fifth highest. Each forum user is allowed one bid and one bid only. The deadline for Bids is 5pm Monday April 14th. Bids received after this date will be void. "Winners" will be notified that evening, and a full list of bids and bidders will be published on the forum. In the event that after the deadline we don't have four unique lowest bids, then a second round of the auction will be held for the remaining posters, previous winners will not be able to bid for a second poster. Good luck! |

Am I thick or what? that made no sense whatsoever!
If its 15 quid how can you be offering daft amounts like 2p? Its either 15 quid or its not! Why not just let everyone register their interest and pull names out of a hat on a certain date? Alot less hassle and easier for thickos like me to get to grips with! |

If you bid 2p and that was one of the lowest unique bids then you'd "win" the draw and be asked to pay £15 for the poster....the amounts of pence are just a way of deciding who gets them

With so few available it's probably the most fair way of doing it, means no-one can be accused of putting names back in the hat or anything

And the winners are ...
ok folks, times up and the bids are in and counted.
I received the following bids: RadioMaster 3p Bubbles89 4p Ben 9p Alex 14p Keep Rocking 53p sw31 57p angelica 58p AnneV 82p BattyBarb 427p Now, that means that the four lowest bids are from RJ, Bubbles89, Ben and Alex. However, two of the bidders have honestly confessed that they were tactically bidding and between them they only want one poster, so that means that the fifth lowest bidder, Keep Rocking also wins a poster as RJ and Bubbles are the honest two. So, congratulations to the four of you RJ, Ben, Alex and Yvonne, I'll PM each of you shortly and we can arrange the payment/delivery options. |
