Default What a terrible world

What a terrible world we are living in,violence just seems to be getting worse and worse all the time...my thoughts today go out to Jimmy Mizens family, the lad who got killed in the bakers shop on saturday. It is just down the road from us and is normally a fairly quiet area. What a terrible waste ,its so sad to think he had just turned sixteen and was just going to buy his first ever lotto ticket,i just cannot imagine what his poor family are going through.i hope the police catch the person who did this very soon, our local news says they might have an idea who has done this and local people also have an idea, lets hope someone will give his name up.Makes me think why do people moan about such trivial things, but then thats life and i am guilty of that as much as the next person...

I saw that on the TV this morning Barb, and what makes it worse for me is that they said someone had earlier tried to get him involved in a fight and he'd walked away from it... Poor little sod, does his best to keep away from trouble and someone kills him for it... My thoughts go out to his family...

Unhappy

This is so tragic and sad .

My thoughts also go out to his friends and family at such a sad time.
I really hope that the person responsible is caught and put away with
the key thrown away. This was just a kid and had his whole life ahead
of him and then someone takes that away, I can't even comprehend
what his friends and family must be feeling.

My condolences goes out to them.

At work today in the pub,a fella who works in Sidcup rugby club said the lads family belong to that club and what a lovely family..by all accounts this afternoon the police have arrested a 19 year old lad for murder, lets hope they have the right one, when it happened a couple of passers by chased the person who did it,but he was too fast so he got away, these people have come forward,so at least they know what he looks like..

A man accused of raping a 12-year-old boy after allegedly tricking him into searching for his lost dog, has been remanded in custody.

Craig Bennett, 44, also known as Craig Preece, of no fixed address, appeared before Blackburn Magistrates' Court charged with two counts of raping a child, kidnap with intent to rape and making threats to kill.

He will next appear at Preston Crown Court on August 6.

The youngster was subjected to a brutal sexual assault after a man promised him £10 to search for his pet near Blackburn, Lancashire.

He was lured to a nearby wooded area in Sudellside, Darwen, where he was raped on Wednesday night.

That is very sick !

I never get why people do that or even think that it is feesable to do so.
This poor kid is going to be scarred for the rest of their life and I wonder
how he feels knowing that he was the cause of that?

I can't even comprehend it, it's so sick and wrong .

Exactly Anji. Isn't innocence a basic right of young children? It is the worst offence to mankind to abuse that. Well, at least imo.

Back to the topic, they have got a bloke who did the stabbing in "The Metro" looks like it was def him,he was armed with 2 knives,4 others were stabbed as well,Kevin who is Robs uncle, only buried his mum a month ago, they had the funeral in "The Alma".Lorna who drinks in our pub was on her way to get a cab on friday night with her husband when it was all happening, she is a trained nurse, thought nothing of it,ripped her t.shirt off and wrapped it around the wound of another lad to stop the bleeding, saved his life, what a brave lady, there are still good people out there...lets hope when this one who has done this goes to court they lock him up and throw away the key....
Another really maddening thing the press were in "The Alma" yesterday posing as friends of Rob ,trying to find out where Kevin lives so they could get a story (from the people),the barmaid and my brother in law sent them packing,i know they have a job to do but havent the family been through enough,it makes me mad..

Abosutely. This countries justice system sucks, Murder,, the stabbing, paedophilles. In my eyes once they have taken someones life away. they should have no human rights at all, however the judges who give out these short sentences for murder etc sentences... should be shot. I'd wish they would bring out a law whereby if you are proved and convicted of rape, murder, it's instance death by leathal injection, no appeal or nothing....

i agree with you, someone takes a life they lock them up for a short while then they are let out to have their whole lives ahead of them while the victims families suffer a life sentance..thats what they call justice..
