I'm gonna say goodbye, I've been thinking about this for a while so believe me that this is not a spur of the moment thing, some of you will probably say so what the ~~~~ but to be true to myself and what I believe in I feel that this has to be done. A forum that has given me so much has degenerated into a free for all with no regard for common decency and morality. I met my partner on this forum and Jasmine would not be here if it was not for the MLUKFC but I do not want to be known as someone that condones the use of the words retard and ~~~~~~ (if you say nothing about it you may as well say it).

And feel the same way.
I cannot and will not allow myself to be part of something that discriminates people because of race, creed or colour. I was absolutely outraged when the use of '~~~~~~' and 'golly wog' was used in the terms they were used.
For a few days I have been thinking of finally breaking away from this forum and I think after what's gone on lately my decision is made.

Thanks for the memories and am grateful for the true friends that I have made via this site.

It's a shame people if people leave for good because of racist jokes even if those happened by accident. I do firmly believe some people should go on a typing course before they are allowed to join a public forum or at least re-read the message before posting.

Why those posts were not deleted by a mod I don't know but I guess it was just missed as the rate of how much bullshit appeared in the MJ Rip thread was rather high.

Sadly, I can see where you are coming from.

And even more sadly, it clearly shows that even a small forum like this can't live without strict moderation. We have tried to reduce moderating to a minimum, which obviously doesn't work given the recent complaints. Looks like we have to change this, which means more deleted posts, more locked threads and more infraction points.

Anyway - M, thanks for all the fish and being our guest for roughly 4 years. Don't hesitate to reconsider though.

You may have noticed that I wasn't around that much in the last half year. Some things from the real life out there finally catched up to me. And these things still need my attention and reduce the time I can devote to this site. And I'm not talking about the bloody English car here.

For the record - according to our rules, the posts mentioned above have been rewarded with an expensive infraction. I'll clean this thread now.

I missed the racist remarks first time round because of the amount of nonsense, me asking to please close the MJ RIP thread was actually more because it had been off topic so much and also I posted some stuff I can see was wrong now. But if had seen the racist remarks at the time there would have been even more trouble no doubt, I'm glad there wasn't! I can easily see the few mods we have missing the few original posts about this too but it does baffle me if some individuals think it is completely normal to post like that and not apologise to anyone at all. Ridiculous imo. But will I let people like that push me away from this board, no ~~~~ing way.

im glad that you have done the honourable thing and chosen to leave. it might have been possible to call error on using the n word when attempting to say bigger or somthing similar, but you went on to argue that you had meant to use that word and reinforced it by using another with the same negative connatations.

Also as someone who works with and has many friends who have learning difficulties im getting really angered by the amount the word retard is being used on this site.

M has decided he is leaving the forum and personally i would like to see this thread to talk about that and to keep private messages what they are meant to be, private.

If someone wants to start off a thread of Does racism exist on MLUKFC, maybe they should go there, but I don't particularly want to read a "fare thee well Batcity, we hardly knew you" because that's what it seems you're waiting around for.

I'm sorry to say I completely agree with Michael, and that's without even seeing the racist/offensive remarks that he's referring to.

This place really isn't what it used to be. I - and others I could mention - used to enjoy the forum as a place to chat, and to have fun, and to look forward to seeing Meat and meeting up with each other again, but over recent years it's decended into a mess of persistant bitching, moaning and nastiness (most of the time for no reason other than to be argumentitive and cause chaos) and frankly I have no time for it. Surely people must notice the amount of members that don't post here anymore?! For those that do still have an interest in posting I'm just glad for you that Rainer and Andy are able to keep some level of sanity around here.

I'm extremely sad that as one of the early members of MLUKFC I have no interest in the place anymore. I joined the paid fanclub aged 12 and have grown up with a whole other little MLUKFC family around me, but I have no time or energy for the attitudes of many people here now and I won't be part of it.

This place has been degenerating for a few years and i hate the fact that this thread seems to imply that things have gone bad recently or because of two people, markham and i dont agree and havent before on race issue but my beliefs are my own, and if he had posted something i didnt like, i sure as hell know where the report button on that post is. Like some others who have left i have seen way too many good friends leave here because of the way this site has gone, nobody remembers them because they didnt do a thread but they left nonetheless and i miss them, it seems almost all the regular posters when i joined have left for much the same reason.
R has a great site here and i'm sorry it's not the place it used to be, i always saw this as THE place to be for a ML fan, hell i even brought a few new members here, but even they have left.

So imo Markham acted like an arse and used language that in my own personal opinion is not appropriate, but there are many other people on here that make this site uncomfortable to visit too.

This is my first post for quite some time and i realise it will probably be overlooked as crap, but i am getting more frustrated each time i read posts that have come from this whole situation.

Congratulations to Mike, i think you will be a good mod, to my knowledge you have been straight down the middle with most situations in the past, i hope you can keep that up as a mod.

Congratulations also Rj, you got your title of argumentative little ******* from me but i am glad to see that has now been removed and i hope to see you show the naysayers (including me, i have to be honest) wrong.

I - and others I could mention - used to enjoy the forum as a place to chat, and to have fun, and to look forward to seeing Meat and meeting up with each other again, but over recent years it's decended into a mess of persistant bitching, moaning and nastiness (most of the time for no reason other than to be argumentitive and cause chaos) and frankly I have no time for it. Surely people must notice the amount of members that don't post here anymore?! For those that do still have an interest in posting I'm just glad for you that Rainer and Andy are able to keep some level of sanity around here. I'm extremely sad that as one of the early members of MLUKFC I have no interest in the place anymore. I joined the paid fanclub aged 12 and have grown up with a whole other little MLUKFC family around me, but I have no time or energy for the attitudes of many people here now and I won't be part of it.

djfierce Mega Loafer Join Date: 15.06.2005 Location: Posts: 3,596	This place has been degenerating for a few years and i hate the fact that this thread seems to imply that things have gone bad recently or because of two people, markham and i dont agree and havent before on race issue but my beliefs are my own, and if he had posted something i didnt like, i sure as hell know where the report button on that post is. Like some others who have left i have seen way too many good friends leave here because of the way this site has gone, nobody remembers them because they didnt do a thread but they left nonetheless and i miss them, it seems almost all the regular posters when i joined have left for much the same reason. R has a great site here and i'm sorry it's not the place it used to be, i always saw this as THE place to be for a ML fan, hell i even brought a few new members here, but even they have left. So imo Markham acted like an arse and used language that in my own personal opinion is not appropriate, but there are many other people on here that make this site uncomfortable to visit too. This is my first post for quite some time and i realise it will probably be overlooked as crap, but i am getting more frustrated each time i read posts that have come from this whole situation. Congratulations to Mike, i think you will be a good mod, to my knowledge you have been straight down the middle with most situations in the past, i hope you can keep that up as a mod. Congratulations also Rj, you got your title of argumentative little ******* from me but i am glad to see that has now been removed and i hope to see you show the naysayers (including me, i have to be honest) wrong.
