Is anyone else finding that the number of new posts on the home page doesn't always tally with the actual amount of new posts? It's only started happening recently, but sometimes it tells me there is only 1 new post when there are obviously more. Any ideas why?

must have been that people hit the post reply button between you going to the homepage and clicking new posts.
I had it the other way around a while back, that it showed new posts when there werent actually any. I think that's the case when a reply is posted then deleted again... |

It's been that way for me lately, and I assumed it was indeed down to posts being deleted.

Just checked this and it's because the news query on the homepage does not check the forum permissions correctly. The number of posts on the homepage includes new posts from forum areas that you don't have access to.
