Default MSO DVD not built to last?

I had the urge to pop my MSO DVD in today for the first time in ages. Video is fine, but the sound is full of pops and crackles. Has this happened to anyone else or is it just me?!

I did feel the compression of that DVD really sucked big time. The video quality could be MUCH much better on a DVD9 disc.
I wish they would release that show on Blu Ray in Hi Def and in full too (with Did I say That/Lie for You/Rock n Roll Dreams). That would kick ass.

According to the photo gallery in the extra's the score is shown on the orchestra's mucis stands, which implies that the orchestra at the very least rehearsed it before the shows. Can't remember hearing if it was every played at the shows, but it might possibly have been soundchecked/rehearsed with Meat and the NLE

According to the threads concerning both concerts, neither Did I Say That, Rock N Roll Dreams, Lie for You nor Heaven Can Wait was played at the concerts.

I think Heaven Can Wait and I'd Lie For You were done during sound checks. I have a suspicion that Rock And Roll Dreams was taken from a completely different show.

How spooky! Mine now comes to a juddering halt during 'Out Of The Frying Pan', and I'm not prepared to pay the £20 asking price at the local HMV for a replacement.

Wasn't the switch between the DVD layers (which is known to cause a stutter on various players) somewhere during Frying Pan?

I don't know. I do know that there is some piss-poor mixing between Frying Pan and FCOL. Maybe that is it?

I'm getting freeze up's during "Lemon", didn't happen last time. Tried a second run through and got same result. I wonder if some of these discs have a defect of some sort? Age shouldn't be causing this should it?

No, age should not at all affect a good standard of DVD. Problems that usually arise from DVD is the glue used to stick two layers together to make a dual layer disc. But this usually only occurs with a defected disc, or if the disc has been left near a heat source. Also just check for finger smudges, or if someone has used your disc as a coaster.
