Why would it be a joke? Why are you confused? Can I think of any more questions?

Although it's great exposure for something that we have no knowledge of where and when it'll happen, I'm kinda underwhelmed by the ad, it doesn't really do much for me at all.

I like the artwork, but the text seems a bit off.

Well, I am my usual cynical self here and going to say what is on my mind...
Interesting timing of an advert that really tells us nothing right at the time when press releases are coming around the press about the Bat Out Of Hell Original Tour DVD. Interesting visual so similar to the original Bat Out Of Hell artwork when I have read there was effort being made to distance Jim Steinman's "Bat Out Of Hell" musical from the Meat Loaf album of the name "Bat Out Of Hell," which contains all songs written by Jim Steinman. I mean, I wish the show well...don't get me wrong. I think it would be a fun night out very similar to the Queen show We Will Rock You. It should be fun! Dave |

Wasn't there a 12" Bat Out Of Hell single that had the same red graphics?

I do wish the musical well and hope Steinman gets some recognition if/when it is ever staged.
However I do see this as a complete and utter rehash of existing material. Is it really worth it? I've not been fussed about the Abba Musical or the Queen musical for that matter. I'm sure they are great shows, but are they as good as the originals which they are taken from? Perhaps it doesn't matter to most people. I think there is enough original music and ideas out there to create a brand spanking new concept. For someone to spend years and years and years working on something (which is his only job I believe) to come up with something that consists out of old music and lyrics is disappointing in my opinion. I'd rather have a few new "Blind as a Bats", "Did I say Thats" and "Testifies" around rather than 1 billion different incarnations of Bat out of hell.... sorry but that's how I feel about it... I would have much rather have seen a Batman musical. That would have been REALLY exciting, rather than a musical that only exists because of past successes.... My two cents... |

The difference I can see with this musical and the Abba & Queen ones is, this will have new material aswell. And I have no idea whether the songs for Bat 1+2 were written with a complete musical in mind or not at the time of writing
It should be a great show, but the ad isn't. |

It probably will be a great spectacular show, but for myself, I don't really want to see anyone else singing Meat's songs. Only he can really do them justice.

I like Meat Loaf but there's some Steinman songs that he's sung that he hasn't done justice to at all. I think even Meat will be excited to hear someone else sing the Bat songs with a fresh voice and in a proper theatrical setting. |
