Default Confused

I'm confused. Why do some MLUKFC members quit, then some weeks or months later are back again?

Who in there right mind would give up sex?

As for (temporarily) giving up this forum; it has been made very public, even in this last week that certain topics are off limits to discuss whatever the reason and whether or not you agree with that. Secondly Meat isn't exactly the easiest person to get along with on a forum, which is my view and is shared with a at least a few others I know of. This can easily be seen in his choice of almost only replying to people who don't think everything sounds amazing all of the time.

And if you're not rude, don't attacke his integrity or post with complete disregard of his feelings, he's dead easy to get along with is the view of many others I know of.

Constructive isn't. Out and out abuse, rudeness and disrespect is a complete no no.

I would tend to agree with this. From what I have seen Meat has always been nice until provoked by someone and their bad attitude (thats putting it nicely).

To answer the question of why people make a giant spectacle about leaving and then turn around and come back that can be answered in one simple word...DRAMA

(not really on topic but relevant to the last few posts...)

I think the thing to remember with Meat is that he's not here as regularly as we are, so when he posts it's often because something specific - usually negative - has drawn his attention and he feels the need to respond to it, so when he posts it's usually in a rush and an immediate reaction to something he feels strongly/emotional about.

When Meat has time to sit down, read threads and post in his own time - like the Bat III information - I find his posts to be as "normal" as anyone else's...if that's a word that can be used here!

well Meat must fall into that category as well considering he's said on occasions that he would never come back.

This forum definitely proves the adage never say is never is alive and well. Hey we could all do without pages and pages of arguments between two members and literally wish they would 'get a room' but this is a place where lots of different opinions are cast and as such not everyone is going to agree, with some more sensitive than others.

I'm not saying that's a bad thing but some do think that the best way of making a statement is to leave and that's fair enough. Providing they haven't done anything to deserve being banned, or acquire multiple infractions, they will always be welcome back.

but as you know it's never as simple as just right and wrong.

I can see this thread turning into a "is Meat nice to talk to on mlukfc thread?"

Make a mods life easy this week (we've been a little on the busy side of late) and let's not.

The fact is that sometimes during arguments and debates emotions can run pretty high.
Sometimes things can get pretty extreme and either one or both parties come to feel that they are letting themselves get too involved (waking up at 3am and finding you're holding your pillow in a headlock is always a good indicator of this) and it's maybe time to step away for a while and spend some time dealing with the real world, which is great now and again to put things back in perspective.

People can find themselves insulted, wether this be intentionally or not, and this can cause the person to want to take a little time out.

As Meat is an active member on this forum, sometimes he has taken offense to what has been said and sometimes something he has said has given offence.
FACT!

For some people, it is much more straining when Meat is involved because they have a lot or respect for him and have no wish to upset him, fall out with him, or have him do the same to them.

In short, most people who leave our virtual community do so because things get too real.
Happilly, most who leave come back after taking time out.

Whether rightly provoked or not I just hate seeing Meat getting upset with what people write here. That's what I probably find the single most disappointing thing about this forum. In the past it has looked as if things here may have an influence on how Meat takes things further (or indeed not) career wise and that's just a shame when it would be done from such a negative point of view, no matter who initiated it. Maybe I read too much into these words he sometimes types as he definitely does not come across aggressive anywhere else (interviews, when meeting him, on stage). In fact he comes across as a very humble, gentle and funny guy who's only fault is his own constant strife for perfection. Perhaps I shouldn't judge Meat on the few posts here but the only way I can describe some of his posts if I would is "disappointing". At the same time he has given us a lot of information on the site here and certainly posted tons of thank you notes pretty much making me think that at least forum-redemption is only a post away.

Anyway sorry for the ramble but it's the best way I can describe my sometimes apprehension with being here and could imagine others (even if it's just one or two) feel the same.

If you mean me then I had very legitimate reasons.
Abuse, racism and disrespect.

I couldn't be a part of something that condoned that but I figured that given time I'd try again with the forum and it's members. I don't post half as much as I used to because to be honest it got to the point where I became miserable every time I did so, so I quit and left for awhile.

Or someone has drawn his attention to something that they deem negative, which is probably why his PM inbox seems to be always full. Because it always astonishes me that with the limited time Meat spends on mlukfc and with the gazillion threads/topics on the go, he seems to be able to hone in the one post that's negative By the way Lucy, in no way am I suggesting you point Meat towards negative posts.

No, you left because people didn't want a Meat Loaf fan forum turn into a Michael Jackson memorial site and you got the huff.

When meat is online he only views threads that spark his interest and reads through them. He has a good eye. You say something negative about him in a thread entitled "PC Bank Arts Center 7/16/10" hell see it. If You say something negative about him in a thread called "Favourite Biscuit" then he wont.
