Exclamation 40 feckin' years... lol ... good luck ! (Monkees into the RNR Hall of Fame)

Support The Monkees and their nomination to The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!
Sep.14, 2010

The Monkees were nominated to The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year, their 40th Anniversary. They were blocked by the editor of Rolling Stone Magazine, Jann Wenner. An online petition to send to Jann Wenner, and The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has been created! The purpose of this petition is to once and for all put an end to the urban myth that The Monkees didn’t play their own instruments and get them into the Hall of Fame.

There is a page dedicated to the petition, with a link. As of this writing, we have 7,020 online signatures, with 124 physical signatures collected at recent concerts done by “Peter Tork & Shoe Suede Blues” www.PeterTorkandShoeSuedeBlues.com , for a total of 7,144 signatures!

Talking Happy Wednesday meatie peeps ...

Actually I was pointing out if after 40 years the Monkees haven't gotten into (apparently to do with the creator Rolling Stones distaste of them) what was made reference to me as becoming the Pop Hall Of Fame due to some inductees, Meat's got a bat catching a ride into hell on a snowball chance ... ...

If Neil Diamond isn't in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame then I personally wouldn't sign a petition to get the Monkees in there. After all he was the one that wrote I'm A Believer and apparantely was going to release it himself but he let The Monkees have it.

Didn't Michael Nesmith create a music video show that led to the foundation of MTV?

You don't have to. It doesn't affect the fact that even a member of a band you think is "a load of shit" can have his merits though. What are yours?

You remind me. There was a story on NPR yesterday about a man who sang opera as a soprano and sounded like a woman singing. It was a bit creepy, really, to hear him sing and then speak. I expected him to speak a bit high pitched, but no. He spoke in a tone you would expect a man to speak in. For some reason, I'm thinking he's Russian, maybe because of his name (which I can't remember... lol ...). At the time it was said, it sounded like it could be a Russian name.
