Default Which albums do you have?

Why don't you tell us which albums you have, and we could recommend others.

Most people seem to prefer "Bat Out Of Hell" and "Bat Out Of Hell 2". The new album, "Couldn't Have Said It Better" is getting great reviews. There are some posted somewhere on this forum. I think it's gone gold or platinum in some parts of the world. "Welcome To The Neighbourhood" went platinum.

I heartily second Shane's suggestions, and I would add Live Around the World. It's a live album (obviously), with a good mix of songs from many albums. It also has the best live versions of Life is a Lemon, Dead Ringer and Rock and Roll Dreams anywhere- those three songs alone are worth the price of the CD. Until CHSIB came out, the Live album was a permanent resident in my car CD player.

Aah yes, Live Around the World...that is a great live 2 cd set to have. I think the performances on that were all or mainly taken from the 90s. Also there is a live cd which I have seen go by various names, such as "Live", "Meat Loaf Live" or "Live At Wembley" which has some great live stuff from a single concert I think ,at Wembley (in the UK) in 1987.

"Bat Out Of Hell 2 Picture Show" video has some live performances (my favourite live version of Life Is A Lemon is on there) and music videos from Bat 2. Some trivia: you can see a young Angelina Jolie on the Rock and Roll Dreams music video which is on there, and Robert Patrick who is in the X Files, is in the Objects In The Rear View Mirror video which is also on there. There is a video called "Live" or "Meat Loaf Live" (NOT to be confused with the cd I mentioned above) which contains footage of a concert in the early 80s and is the last one I know of to have Meat with that `classic 70s look': a tuxedo and red bandana.

Now obviously I (and others) could go on and on...so if you want to know anything else, just ask.

Personally, I don't see how such Meat fans don't love every one of the albums...

While it's true that we like them all, and that they're all good. Some are undoubtabely better. The Steimnan ones notably. Bat I and II and Dead Ringer. Bad Attitude and CHSIB are his best non Steinman albums (though two Steinman songs appear on BA).

Going back to live around the world, if you're going after it, it may be worth while ordering it fro amazon.com in the US and not from HMV (the only place in the UK I've seen it. I did, and it saved me 8 quid!

I love the version of two out of three on this cd

We do! It doesn't mean we can't talk about which ones are better than others.
