Party In The Park details
I know that David has locked the other PitP topic but I'm just back from Party In The Park and some people have stated things about the TV screening that are incorrect so I'm starting this thread. Please keep it to ONLY things about Party In The Park.
As I said, I'm just back from Party In The Park and Channel 5 DID show ALL of Anything For Love that they played on stage this afternoon. They only sang the opening part and then the Meat and Patti part at the end. There were no verses or choruses performed on stage this afternoon. Also, the start of CHSIB was John drummng and then Meat singing - both at Pitp and in Plymouth they didn't start the song with the Meat singing the slow part as is on the single so almost all of CHSIB was shown on Channel 5. During BOOH someone off stage was constantly telling Kasim that they needed to get it finished and twice I saw Kasim tell them that there were only X number of seconds left of the song! Also, some of the sound that was played on TV was different to what we heard on stage (e.g. when Meat said the "sucker" line) the sound didn't come out over the speakers in Hyde Park. Finally (on a slightly different topic) my friends and I spoke to 3 of the band members and we were all told that the Plymouth concert was NOT a promo concert and was the first proper concert of the tour. I think it was slightly shorter as they had an early concert the next day. For me, the 2 hours just flew by! Sue http://www.KasimInfo.com |

Thanks Sue!
It must have been great to be there. I was really looking forward to hearing BOOH but it was not televised. Lucky you got to be there and see the full performance. Hope you had a great day :) Luv Terri |

The new band played together REALLY well (having an extra guitar in places is a real asset IMO) but the sound was just dreadful in the venue (or at least where I was standing)! I couldn't make out a word in the Lost Boys and Golden Girls mini-song. After the Wasted Youth speech, the stage presentation of Do IT was a great idea and brilliant execution but I was disappointed in the rest of the set and concert. They only played three songs that were new to a live performance (Testify, Love You Out Loud and Do It) and all the rest had virtually the same arrangements and stage theatrics (e.g. Meat grabbing Patt's breasts and then putting her over his shoulder during Paradise). One surprise though was that Bat Out Of Hell wasn't in the last section of the concert. I expect that as the tour progresses they'll play different tracks. |

Its nice to see an unbiased and unblinkered opinion of a meat loaf performance thanks for that sue, others will strongly disagree with you, but i feel it takes guts to come on here and say "look this performance wasnt that good ". its a case of light the blue touch paper! imo he has been pushing himself to hard he is still not well

Thx SueW,
for clearing all this up for us, hope you had a brilliant time. I do hope he'll be carefull with himself.... Tribute: I think everybody is entitled to his/her opinion as long as it isn't disrespectful to or cursin at someone. Now I didn't say you did that, mind, just my opinion. Even if you think someone is a a..s there is no need to post it on the forum, why not PM the person with your personal opinion. I didn't think CHSIB sounded good on the webstream, but I can't judge because I wasn't in Hyde Park. Webbroadcasts sound dreadfull sometimes, while the actual performance sounds great. I think it's great that Meat is getting publicity, eventhough most off us are upset about the actual broadcast. my 2 cents, Asha |

Thanks for the Plymouth-report, Sue. My question: was Bobby the Bat there too? I just LOVE Bobby the Bat.
