Cool Halloween 2011

We do Halloween on Gate Night so we've already had ours.

Abby was Sophie from the BFG (Big Friendly Giant) books. She put the whole costume together with no help! It was so cute, she had told Amanda Aday on Facebook that she was beautiful in her costume and Amanda responded which made her evening. She then wanted to share her costume with Amanda so we posted a picture and before she left for school this morning we saw the response. Abby was so tickled that she responded and left saying she was so excited that Amanda liked her costume and was going to tell everyone at school,

Alyssa went as a witch. She took Abby around the park trick-or-treating in that 17" of snow. Better her than me

I'm very proud of Nate, he was Deputy Dog for the police department's Halloween party. 4+ hours in a super hot costume. He was very glad it was only 30F last night,

My camera broke and the phone doesn't take the greatest pics in the dark but here's a few pics of my kids' costumes. (the whole set)

Halloween isn't really a big thing here in Australia, but, well..... we had a kid come to our house today (Little, just a toddler), then a little later another couple of kids...... and then 20.......... 20!!!!! ALL AT ONCE!!!!! Un-heard of here in my world lol

I guess good news travells fast eh? .... where free lollies are concerned anyway!!!

One thing I like about how we've done things, we don't make it a candy run. They only do our park which we know everyone, one of the local businesses that does a fun house (can't call it haunted, they keep it in line for the little ones) and the police station.

Oh, and our park is starting to be older parents and grandparents so they are at the stage where they really enjoy seeing the kids in costume so it's a double win

I am a bit of a killjoy on this one. Just don't get it.
However, I have just done the weekly shopping and sneaked in a couple of boxes of Cadbury's Heroes.
That should send the little rascals off happy!!

I'll be banking on the reputation of my neighbourhood being far too rough for anyone to let their kids wander round it knocking on doors!
