hi, if there had to be an artist to sing meats music who do you think would do meats & steinman music justice. if i had to choose , do you know i cant think of one because meat is out there on his own , for me it would have to be steve steinman singer out of the meat loaf story , i can't think of anyone who is a pop star who could do it let me know yours , im sure there must be somebody

Agree with you there Greg, Steve Steinman is magnificient, he remains his own person still, but brings to the audience a tantalising vision of Meat.

I agree,
Steve is a great ML tribute. Went to see him in Peterborough in March (?) and absolutely loved it. Can't wait to see him aghain (Might ask hjim if I can join as JIM STEINMAN - I have Ideas of how the show could be modified...) Not that i'm complaining!! On his website it says he is putting together a musical called VAMPIRES OF ROCK. It contains many rock classics like Bat Out Of Hell (!), Living on a Prayer (Bon Jovi) and I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight (Guns 'n' Roses). Sounds interesting |

No other artist could possibly do justice to Meat's songs.
As regards Steve Steinman, his show is well put together and he does a reasonable impersonation of Meat. But Peat Loaf definitely gets my vote as he always gives that little bit extra. He gives his audience 110%, just like Meat does. |

Good question big bruv, but i think the obvious answer has got to that no one can give the songs justice!
Steve Steinman puts on a good show but it depends on how you mean do the songs justice? Do you mean if the artist sounds the same as Meat or do you mean another artist who doesn't have the same vocal attributes but gives the overwhelming emotion? If you mean by sound-a-like then Steve Steinman would probably come top for me. But if you mean artists not trying to emulate Meat's voice then I would say Jon Bon Jovi, maybe even Marti Pellow as i think his voicce might suit a couple of the tracks. But really without hearing any covers its hard to say. And really it would be like finding gold in turd, to find any one who could be at Meats level!! |

Don't know if there is anyone who could sing as well, although Michael Ball does a good job of "Unsettled Scores" on the Whistle Down The Wind album. He's not very rock though
On a slight tangent, I've always thought Meat should do a) Dance In My Pants b) Let Me Entertain You (and Meat it up! - that would show that upstart Robbie how it is done!) |

Wow..Pete..well...what can i say???
I've just listened to you bit on Radio Scotland, where you sang Took The Words and 2 Outta 3, and it was fantastic!!!! I can't believe just how much you sound like Meat - and during 2 Outta 3, i could feel the hairs on the back of my neck prickling. Had to laugh though - One moment you sounded like Meat, but when you were being interviewed you sounded just like Rab. C. Nesbitt Hafta say that i didn't expect you to be so good, and i was very pleasently surprised Heat xxx |
