Default Import. To Fire Ball. Meat Loaf had to cancel after being in

http://www.nypost.com/entertainment/3184.htm

* Liz Phair and The Black Eyed Peas will perform on tomorrow's "GMA" (7-9 a.m./Ch. 7) live from Bryant Park. Meat Loaf had to cancel after being injured while performing in Mexico.

WTF!!! I hope this is nothing serious in fact I hope it's nothing.
Meat I think you need a dedicated specialist team to look after you, now we have a nice selection of people here we can soon get together a team of nurses, drivers, body guards, PA's, web advisers, risk assessers etc
just give us a call

Seems like a good idea. We could get together a "care team". I'll help out with the cool face cloth and massage the aromatherapy oils!!!!

This is of course a one liner in a paper. I wrote to the organisers of the concert for GMA and they told me that Meat had cancelled last Saturday due to problems he was continuing to experience with his throat. For my money this would be consistent with someone who after a problem which meant he had to cancel 2 concerts last week, had decided to go for the Mexico dates but agreed with his throat doc it was advisable to then give his voice a complete rest for the week before the tour dates started again, and protect the interests of the majority of his fans.

Thanks for the update... from Spain this liner was I found... in Mexico Meat had a little faint, maybe it's related.... only Meat and the doctors know...

A logical deduction from the response you recieved. Thanks for sharing this with us.
However my offer of forming a specialist team to ensure his needs are fully met still stands. I'm sure the PA's and publicity departments we could create would keep fans far better informed than the ragtag stack of piecemeal info we are currently being drip fed

Of course this might be from someone who heard someone say to someone something they'd heard someone say .. etc .. etc ... and the original comment might just as well have been someone saying "whew .. this heat and altitude's a killer .. even Meat felt a bit faint earlier today" .. a bit like the old tale of how "send reinforcements we're going to advance" becomes "Send three and fourpence we're going to a dance" by the time it's passed down the line.

Meat loves sport, is fit and has huge energy, and we know he hates to cancel shows and only does so with great reluctance. My take on the guy is that he probably hates being below par and probably doesn't like going into much detail when he is. I don't think he's any more accident prone generally than the norm (let's forget the concussions .. he collected them with pride .. lol) nor is he prone to illness .. but his voice is a finely tuned instrument .. and just as a top athlete can't perform due to minor ailments/strains that wouldn't incapacitate the rest of us .. Meat has to make sure his voice is up to the perfomance he's going to give.

He knows we love him and want his tour, like his album, to be a huge success. I can imagine that voice strain must be hellish frustrating for him. My hope is that a weeks break will give it the time it needs to recover fully, and that he remains his usual fighting fit self for the remainder of this long tour.

As you say Meat and his doctor know what's going on. My guess is that he probably doesn't like having to give detailed bulletins because basically he enjoys rude health and doesn't think of himself as a frail injury/illness prone person .. Meat and "frail" .. now there's a contradiction in terms if you like

What we know is that if he can he does .. and he does at 150% :)

Hope you get better soon meat (at least in time for Manchester in November!!)

If Mousie is the butler, i can be the man who supplies the papers and clips any bits out of magazines featuring Meat!! I am sure my customers won't mind the odd whole in their paper!! (or should that be i am sure i won't give a toss whether they mind or not!!!!)

Couldn't have said it better!
(OMG) Did I say that!

But seriously this is so true and I'm sure we all know how easily rumour and gossip can start. I'm sure he's doing his best to take care of himself, listening to medical advice and ensuring he protects the commitments he has to the tour.
