Well for me it'd be thousands of dollars and flying there, and then not being able to afford food once I returned, so hey, at least you're better than some

It's implied at Jim's forum by one of his frequent collaborators of late that he might be putting in an appearance, which makes this extra special for those of you so inclined.

I found it interesting in this interview that Meat originally sang some of the songs "up the octave" in his higher register. But when Ellen/Karla came in to sing, it sounded weird. So Jim said to Meat "Your lower register is amazing...use it..." ...All those who say Meat Can't sing anymore with his higher register need to listen to THIS artistic choice AND Train of Love/Dirty Water. BOTH in the higher register.

He's said several times Jim wanted him to sing lower. It's about choice not inability. Those who say he can't sing any more .. have they listened to train of Love where he sings just as I have heard him do ad delighted in for some years!

That was a distinct possibility. As I understand it, Jim's still reclusive enough that it's hard to get him out in public.

Ah, the mystery clears up! According to a Facebook post (not sure if I should share the info here, since it was posted on Facebook and not specifically aimed at MLUKFC :P ), the "special guest" Pat (Jim's new collaborator) refers to is Tyce, the young man recording the other album of Jim material that drops next month.

Tyce posted a lovely photo with Meat, accompanied with this message:

Quote:
Thanks Meat Loaf for today. Your words of encouragement mean everything to me. He said I was "great" and reminded me to keep building characters onstage in every song. I'm honored. Steinman's music is a bond that we share and I'm grateful to be the next interpreter of Jim's music <3
Guess he has Meat's blessing?

Nice of Meat to encourage the young man. I guess he has Jim's blessing. From what I have heard I have to say I'm not impressed in the least, but to be fair I have only heard the released clips.

To be fair dude, the promo for bbis ended nearly 30 years ago, not to mention that for a while he struggled to get a record deal based on it's (Ahem) "success".
