Default What one thing inspires you about Meat!

What is one way that Meat Loaf inspires you? Whether its his songs, his movies, or just being himself. I don't know what you think Fireball, but you have truely made a difference in the people's lives FOR THE GOOD. One way, is the song "Do It!", I been listening to Meat for awhile, and I always wanted to be a better singer and performer, and because of this song, I am finally going to Do It! Yep, I'm going to be a performer\singer\actor, one or the other, so thanks Meat, Thank You...VERY MUCH. Your my Rock N Roll Hero!

One thing? .. difficult .. his determination to always give whatever he's doing his very best shot coupled with his drive to keep doing it better

a littel while ago i found my mother passed away at her house. i had to kick in the door and found her in teh living room. she ws only 68 and not sick at all, so this was a big shock to me her only daughter. i thought my life was over. even my friends and family knew how rough i was taking it. then one day i put a meatloaf cd in and sat and listened to it all . it changed my life, and probably literally saved it too. the words in his songs hit me . his music has meaning , and listening to the words turned my life around . thank you meat from the bottom of my heart . please never stop rockin. you are my inspiration.

Well, those of you who read my long birthday post already know how Meat has miraculously influenced and completely changed my life for the better--something I will be forever grateful for!!

But I think, as someone who is 'fear-driven, what I admire most about him is his never letting anything stop him. Growing up in the way he did because of his dad; his weight and the torture and prejudice he went through because of it; fighting the mainstream music industry, when he and Jim were pushing a totally new concept with Bat Out of Hell....He never gives up. He sets his mind to something and he gives it everything he has!!

And I can't tell you how much I admire the spirit and strength and courage that must exist in order to accomplish what he has so far and I look forward to what he will accomplish in the future!! I know he has great things ahead (and because of that, so do we)!

Nice topic! Thanks!!

Love,
MB

For me it's the way he always gives it his all. It seems like the man is unstopable. I wish that I could be that way

Just the one? No fair .

It's very difficult to pinpoint just one way that Meat has been such a positive influence on millions of people round the world .The energy in his delivery of his performance is inspiring enough, but there is much more insperation to be found from the man.
I love his positivity. My favourite quotation of Meat's is......

From the Bat II picture show
Quote:
Don't think.Just do.
Simple, but very effective. There's something about the way Meat says it.It really makes you believe .

I'm gonna move this over to General Messages so more people can enjoy this great topic .

As Caryl has said previously, i think it's his determination. He has come through so much with his head held high, and he's still relitively sane

I think the one thing about Meat for me is - everything!

He has this amazing presence when he's on stage that just mezmorises me, if I'm listening to him on my radio his voice/music makes me feel better, he's an amazing person who has helped people to realise that dreams can come true. He's just someone who's always going to be there ..... I'm rambling I know, but there's not one thing I can pin down about him that I like ..... apart from EVERYTHING!

His drive. When he's faced with adversity, his determination increases. I've always respected that quality in people, and Meat has it to a degree you rarely see! I just really respect that.

Default What Meat Means To Me!!

I moved here from Denmark when I was 10 and my first concert was at age 11 and it was Meat. I just love how every song he sings is either something he has done or something he wants to do. In every song there is something for someone. From love to hate to live or die or to just throw down and thresh around. I can't say that there isn't a song of his that I don't like. I am 30 now and I travel with my job none stop. Just when I think I am tired of the same thing going, going and going I look at Meat and he just doesn't stop. I don't have anyone to worry about at home, but he does and he still pulls it off. Meat your the best and you are to everyone that understands you and your music. I even got the others to warm-up for our Boston show to your music. Who ever thought Meatloaf and Celtic dance would go so well together. Maybe I can change that show after all these years.

I just think Meat is an ispiration to the young. If you listen to alot of his lyrics i think they would help people who are not as priviledged as some, to know that what ever they want in life is obtainable. He is an ispiration to us all for his determination and true grit

I think it is his determination.

I am just reading his autobiography at the moment and although i am not very far into it (Just got to the JFK bit as I only started this mornign!!) I am amazed as to how he is always determined to overcome whatever is thrown at him.

Without wanting to insult him, he reminds me of one of the kiddies toys that were popular when we were young: Weebles. These were little figures and the slogan was "Weebles wobble but THEY DON'T FALL DOWN". And I just think that applies to Meat. Whatever happens he doesn't let it knock him down!!

yes i to was impressed by the book and what i read.
The thing that impressed me the most was how he could carry on
with his concerts the way that he does despite his chest giving him
hell with the asthma, and then only collapsing when he comes of the
stage.
he really is one hell of a man, he gave me the courage last year
to ignore the doctors telling me to sit down and accept i wouldnt be
able to carry on like before and thank god, i didnt listen as i am now
back to my old self just using inhalers instead of the nebuliser.
Thank you meat for giving me the courage to do this and really for
giveing me my life back.
Last year when i went to his concert, i stood in the crowd and cried,
for the year before i didnt think i would of been able to make it,but
i did, for that i will allways be thankfull.
