Got to say R, ignoring the fact that national pride etc demands I say we will win, you could be right
Personally I would not be surprised if it came down to a draw and penalties. |

It was a good game but i do still think taht penalties are an apalling way to settle a big match.
Two other points, why the heck was Campbell's goal disallowed? the ref needs reprimanding for that one. And also, why did he allow them to play off a penalty spot in that condition?? You can tell it is abd when even the portugese players are jumping up and down on it to try adn flatten it down!!! |

It looks like they took the penos on a small mountain I agree Chris, Campbell's goal should not have been disallowed, and going to penalties is no way to end a match. Bring back the Golden Goal.

Rooney is the biggest girls blouse there has ever been! Oh the poor baby twisted his ankle. What a wimp, damn I've had worse and still got up and carried on playing. Sorry to say this but both teams weren't that good and my third devision WOMENS team play better than that.
England if thats the best you can play you deserve to be on the way back home. |

I have to disagree with you there Keb. When your Women's Third Division Team reach the Quarter Finals of the European Championships then you can make posts like that. England may not have played as well as they could have, but with their previous matches and form, they did not deserve to go home.
As for Rooney being a girls blouse, somehow I don't think he would have went off if he really didn't need too. |

I thought the Swiis would have made the best referee's what with them always saying how neutral they are! Hmmm not tonight though. You could see the teams heads go don and Portugal pick up their game when Rooney limped off! At the end of the day the team that wanted it most won it, even though we were robbed by a dodgy decision - then again didn't we win the world cup once due to a few of those?

Not a shock who's side the referee took -
1) he is Swiss - England beat them 3-0 few days ago 2) Portugal are Home nation so all decisions went their way and even the goal which was definately a goal had to go their way, wonder if the ref was paid? 3) Ronaldos penalty in the shoot out shouldnt have counted - he dummied twice and that isnt allowed. Id hate to have been english! And Beckhams penatly summoned up his whole tournament, he was really really poor every match. |

I think you need to get over it. England lost because Portugal were the better team. This is why people think the English are sore losers. And Keb, please stop going on about womens football, it makes you sound like a rabid feminist.

for once you don't sound like one Heli
It's actually well recognised in the world of football that the England Womens team are one of the best in the world and as I understand it their world rankings are higher than the England mens team, put the mens and the womens team head to head and you'd see that the games are completely different ... even though the chances are ther mens team would still lose on penalties |

Heli, they do but they play the same tournament but a womens version. I was just making a point, that you don't hear about the womens team until the men have lost, and in some cases people making heros out of people like Rooney... when they don't exactly play a good game.
Its a well known fact that the host nation get an easy ride, look at the World Cup, they had to bring over new refs etc because they were making really bad judgements. England are coming home and thats the end of it, they haven't played well at all, and maybe they don't deserve to be sent home, thye are coming, whether we like it or not. |
