59. Original Sin
This is the START OUT OF HELL & ARRIVE TO HEAVEN topic.
Let's Go to Rock 'n' Roll!!!!!!! Original Sin (9) I think this is the best rock in the album. I don't understand why have never been Number One! Why hasn't it video? It's very good but... I think Pandora's version is better (I know you will throw stone to me). The Pandora's version is a special mood, a progressive pop-rock song. Meat's version is more powerfully but its world of music is simpler. Well, it's good! My score: 9 Average: 9.00 (162/18 ) |

Re: 59. Original Sin
Amazing music en lyrics. More powerfull than Pandora's Box version, also the music. It's just the right version for this song.
My score: 8/9 |

The lyrics are fantaaaaaaaastic. Wonderful!! The chorus sounds great! The piano is dark (er than sin). I like more Pandora's version, maybe because they were first and i get used to it. Somehow Meat's voice does not fit in the song. But it is still good. Except the "boing"in the end it just makes me laugh a little bit. The end of Pandora's with the backing vocals is superb.
Meats version is an 8. |

A mysterious and a bit dark sounding song. I love it! Cool Jim-song. It's a great one! One of the greatest Meat ever did.

I love the strained sound of the guitars in the intro.
Meat's voice sounds very dark in the opening few lines, until the song explodes. The lyrics are great, very steinmanesque. This album started out to be Bat III,and I think this would have sat on that album very well. The only thing missing is the darker than sin speech. That would have put the cherry on the cake . It's a shame that Original Sin was never released as a single.Meat does great rock songs as well as great ballards and I would like to see them pushed more.Life Is A Lemon got to the stage of having a promo made, but I don't know why it was never released . 9/10 Restless. Did you know that Taylor Dayne recorded a version of Original Sin with different lyrics for the soundtack of the film The Shadow. |

The BEST version of ORIGINAL SIN is:
TANZSAAL on the German Tanz der Vampire CD. It is the most powerful, energetic SOUND I've ever heard. Steve Barton sings it, with accompaniment from the Vampire Chorus. TANZSAAL is the scene where Von Krolock (Barton) bites Sarah's throat And inducts her into vampirehood. The chorus from TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE HEART appears as an interlude. NOTHING BEATS "TANZSAAL" |

Another great song from a great album.
It really captures a sort of teenage rebellion, when you have broken every cliched rule and want to do something really different. True rock and roll that gets a great sinful: 8/10 |

A brilliant dark song. One of my favourite from WTTN. I think I might prefer the Pandora's Box version though. It's got more to it.

This should have been on the "Best Of" album, hands down. Definitely a song I have loved ever since landing my grubby mitts on WTTN.

My fave on the WTTN album with Left In The Dark.
I love the construction of the song. The way the music brings the lyrics and wraps one word after the other to move into a tornado of drums, guitars, backgroundvocals and most of all Meat's voice! It almost hurts to listen to it! 9/10 |

This is definately one of Jims best songs, although I prefer Taylor Daynes version I think Meat has done it proud. And I agree with Lostsoul, it's the best song on WTTN.
I give the song 9.5/10 Meats version 8.5/10 Pud |
