Smell Association
Which is nothing like Word Association!
My mind was wondering, as it does, and I was wondering which smells people associate with certain people, places, etc.... ( so many of you are going to take this the wrong way, but.... ) the smell of leather reminds me of Meat! When I first met Meat in 1999 I wore a black leather jacket, and whenever I smell that smell it takes me right back to my Meet and Greet and Meat hugging me while we had our photo taken. Just got home to an empty house so I've still got my jacket on while the heating kicks in, the jacket being a leather one - very smiley Miss Loaf just now!! So! Let's share smells..! |

There's a soap that transports me back thirty odd years to my Grandparents bathroom.

RockandRollJesus aka Jo.. gave me a stick of "Extra- green apple gum", at a Meat Loaf, HOTD concert, last yr. Which I really liked the flavor of. It has become my fav gum, and transports me back to that night, when I had the pleasure of meeting Meat himself, and a couple of my Meaty friends in person, for the very first time. It is a memory I will always treasure...
J. PS. thanks for starting this topic Lucy. |

My paternal grandmother used to wear an exquisite pair of custom made super soft leather gloves that she brought out to Australia from Cornwall. Whenever I smell leather now, I am transported back to sitting in front of her on her rocking chair. And that same image conjures the smell of her pièce de résistance, the Cornish pastie.

I was all excited on the morning and he made the sandwiches for are lunch. It's better than what most people think of when they smell egg. |

Just reread my original post above and realized I'd forgot to add.. That it is also the "green apple" smell of the gum, as well as flavor, that brings back that great memory. |
