The Dream Engine
Just wandering if I've missed something somewhere along the line...is the Dream Engine album still happening? According to Wikipedia, Steve Rinkoff said that it was to come out that year.
In 2006. Four years ago. Has this project been abandoned, or is it just taking forever to produce ? The band's MySpace page was last updated at around the same time with great demos of new takes on We're Still The Children, Safe Sex and Nowhere Fast...then nothing, as far as I can tell. Hoping someone a bit more knowledgeable can fill me in Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, not exactly Meat Loaf so I placed it here =D |

Abandoned. Due I believe to lack of funding plus Jim keeping his new songs for the Bat musical.

Thought Dream Engine was more like 2004/2005 with those Joe Pub gigs. Wasn't the Bat musical announced around when Bat 3 came out? I noticed Jim's wiki page hasn't been updated since 2008. Sad.

LMAO No matter how many times I hear Jim and Bat musical in the same sentence, it still makes me laugh.
I don't think there was a lack of funding for TDE, I think Jim was wanting a big pay deal for something that wasn't established and gave up. In theory there's no reason why TDE as a touring group with guest artists couldn't work. |

As in recycled from the Batman musical that never happened. I have no idea when they were originally written.

2002 or thereabouts, although the songs may have been written years earlier for all I know. Some of the demos are here: http://www.jimsteinman.com/dreampol.htm

I was surprised that Steinman was going to make a candy out of that motley crew... The only remarkable thing about that concert was that me and Mr. Daveake were in the same room together at some point in our lives and didn't know each other...star crossed fans...lol |

Pud, I am watching that clip and literally crying...ok...I got a batman, cat woman and Robin...who is the random lady that keeps on appearing?
I find it, however, disturbing...Batman doesn't appear to have a penis...while Cat Girl does??? |

Steinman was advised early in the writing of the Batman musical to 'Keep It Gay'
