Default Live Around the World

I do not know much about this album but I have been hearing a lot of it lately on Pandora. I checked it out on Amazon and the lowest price was about $45. Can someone give me some insight as to why the cost is so high? Was it issued in limited quantity?

Hi I used to own a copy of it and I'm pretty sure it was a limited edition album its a 2 disc set which includes 2-4 photos of Meat Loaf live in concert, both CD's are picture discs which would make it a collectable.

It has a great track list to.

Hope that helps.

I believe it was a limited edition and is out of print. You can find "like new" on Ebay. Otherwise I think you'd be buying it for collectible prices for new on amazon. The 2 CD set is worth having in your collection. :)

It's a great set with an awesome track list.
Lovely digi pack too with really nice picture discs.

I'd say you could get in cheaper on ebay though.

I recently bought a 'back-up' copy on ebay for -I believe- 7,50 euro. And it was in great condition. You can find more of those on ebay for that price. Absolutely worth it

Yeah, it's a great album. I actually got mine when I was holidaying in the US back in 99 and saw it in a record shop there. I had never seen it in Australia, so I grabbed it. I agree, it would probably be cheaper on ebay, it pops up there occasionally.

I bought it new in the very late 1990's and it was £25 then, lovely item to have, the recordings are brilliant but I'm sure you could get it cheaper

I still find it hilariously ironic that one of Meat Loaf'a most sought after recordings was issued by a dance music label considering the comments made about the rap that was included on his last album.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Meat-Loaf-...item19d25d40c2

An american listing on Ebay currently has a copy at $55.99 +$6.75 postage

There were 2 copies in my local HMV last week priced at £9.99

I have had my copy for a good long while now, Purchased it from Anne Filmer who used to run this site, Purchased through here and still have the receipt I was given for £7 but would happily pay more to replace it if I ever needed to because it is just so DAMN GOOD
especially the HCW with just Meat & Jim on the piano

If Snoop Dog's label put out a new unreleased Roy Orbison disc i'd buy it and still hate the fecker

I don't know what the label has to do with buying the music of your favourite artist

Unless you're helping to educate them by showing them the decent music they put out sells well

The album Supermodel of the Word by RuPaul is the label's top selling product and could and is legendary in some circles as Bat Out Of Hell is in others. Incidentally, RuPaul took to the road and toured performing the Supermodel album extensively in the same way Meat Loaf took to the tour bus to push sales of Bat. Small world and an amazing demonstration that ground root efforts by artists who believe in their work really does make a difference. The difference is now...it is not about sales, but about exposure and getting your name out there. Sadly, unless you are young and female, you are not selling in today's market. But, that can change tomorrow. The industry is so flighty like that.

Thanks everyone, sounds like I need to pick this album up. I will check out ebay first before purchasing from Amazon as some of you have suggested I may be able to get it for a better price.

Thanks again

It's a great record. I listen to it all the time. It includes my all time favourite live version of 'Lemon'. Patti kills it on this track.
