Identity (2003)
Quite a clever flick I thought. I'd seen bits and the ending before. But seeing the whole thing was definitely worth while. I recommend this one. |

I loved this film.... but I'm a bit of a sucker for John Cusack, and anything with a smattering of a twist in it.... Have you ever read the IMDB.com trivia notes on it? Specifically the last one, with the spoiler warning? How I'd love to have seen the look on her face... snigger snigger.... |

Unforgiven (1992).
Great film. Eastwood and Hackman are flawless. Long time no see this film and the first western I've watched on Blu Ray. Superb quality. Honestly thought I had wasted money when I bought the PS3. How wrong I was. Best movie experiences ever in the last few weeks. |

Ghost Rider
Not fantastic but watchable, mainly 'cause I was drooling over some of the gorgeous motorbikes in it! National Treasure Really enjoyed it. Can't decide whether I like this one or the second one more though. |

What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? - great film by Robert Aldrich with Bette Davis playing one of her best roles.

Tropic Thunder.
I was looking forward to this one. Thought it was really weird and not really funny most of the time. Some amazing action though. They should have made a normal Vietnam movie, without the stupid story and just some jokes. It takes the piss out of Platoon, Apocalypse Now and a bunch of other Vietnam movies, all of which are far more entertaining to watch in my opinion. *SPOILER (look away now): Tom Cruise is badly cast imo. Also one of the weakest roles I've seen Jack Black do. Useless waste of money, really. Should have stayed home. Doubt I would go and see another Ben Stiller directed movie in the cinema. No doubt Jack Black will be plugging this movie later on Jonathan Ross tonight, and the big fake Ross as he is will be agreeing with him that it is a great movie. Sigh. I can't believe this movie cost $92 million to make. I really think they should have made a more serious film with that kind of money instead of a comedy like this. The high rating on imdb and reviews "best comedy in years" is something I really don't get. Hot Fuzz for example was a much, MUCH better Hollywood spoof film than this in my opinion. Why do the biggest comedy stars in the USA make so many unfunny films is my question here? (Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy and now Jack Black ) Don't get me wrong, this is not the worst comedy I've seen (that prize may have to go to Superbad or other forgettable teen trash) but this was a disappointment I thought. Some movies, I saw trailers for and I think are going to be quite interesting are: Death Race and The Day The Earth Stood Still Last edited by AndrewG; 20 Sep 2008 at 00:16. |
